To the one who made me a mother nearly 15 years ago. You make everything better in my life. You have taught me more about myself. You have brought me immeasurable joy. You encourage me to keep going. You inspire me to be brave. Laughing is better with you. You may never know the depths of my love for you. But I pray every day that you know you are loved. And that no matter what life brings you, you have a choice in how you receive it and whether you let it change you. Happy Mothers Day to me. And Happy (almost) Birthday to you! @rubyrosecoloredworld #mothersdayā¤ļø #motherdaughterlove by @brooklynnkohler

Gratitude for the job I get to do. And for a positive exchange of energy. And so very grateful for a kind and boisterous laughing patron who seriously made my day/night/week/year. Kindness comes in all forms y’all. taken in Desert Star Playhouse by @brooklynnkohler

November 2025: I have tried to shift my focus back to gratitude as I have suffered with depression and anxiety the last several months. November was the perfect time to create some new practices. I still have a long way to go. I feel so lonely in the world lately. It is so odd that we can be surrounded by people, working constantly, keeping such busy lives and feel so lonely. And we were BUSY. We got Scrooged open and the whole family was involved. Matt and I helped with a re-write on the show and co-directed. While Ruby had her first production assistant credit. She kept us on track and was a huge help is staying organized. Matt and I are also performing in the show. Ruby made the HS basketball team! So proud of how hard she is working. šŸ€Training and conditioning are a necessary evil, and she has kept a great attitude. She also broke her finger…. But it’s healing up nicely. 🦃Thanksgiving was spent with the Kohler side of the family. I apparently took no pictures of people…only food šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø. I guess we were too busy talking and enjoying time with each other. I’m so grateful for family. We honored our Christmas Carol tradition and saw the show. It’s the first time in 14 years that none of us were involved. We miss our Carol fam. But our tradition lives on by seeing the show. As hard as this year has been, I’m so grateful for the life I have. We have had so many tender mercies. This too shall pass. We are resilient. And we are so loved. 🄰 by @brooklynnkohler

Said goodbye to the one-way bridge on 146th last Sunday 11/16/2025. So many trucks lost the battle here. And became stuff for hours. So many lengthy stops for no reason. #bluffdaleutah #onewaybridge by @brooklynnkohler

We got to do a little rewrite of the show and direct it. So if you don’t like it….its our fault. A huge shout out to @rubyrosecoloredworld who served as a production assistant on this show. September 2025 started feeling a bit more normal. Sister Act tech and opening. Hurting my knee. Starting physical therapy. Getting back in the show. Have I mentioned how much I love this cast. (Separate reel coming soon) Also, thank you to all the amazing friends and family who came and saw the show. It’s been such a blessing šŸŽˆRuby sang with the Ruth Academy’s choir for the Olympic committee. She went to her first HS dance. She snuggled a bunch with our cutest pups and got some Dubai chocolate. Matt is healing nicely. Getting his energy back and is enjoying performing in Wicked-er. We got to meet some of the first responders and thank them for literally saving his life. We celebrated birthdays and I won BIG on left center right. So all in all…. September has been great! by @brooklynnkohler

August 2025 was the month we picked ourselves up off the ground and kept moving forward. Matt was officially released from IMC with an ICD. Lots of follow up Drs appointments… so many drs in our life right now. One little scare that put Matt back in the ER. I returned to Sister Act (Hale Sandy)rehearsals. Matt was able to open Wicked-er (Desert Star). And of summer water party. Ruby started high school 😱. We slowly started feeling a little normal again. Friends and family checked in a lot. Lots of phone calls and Marco polos. Help with dinners as we struggled to have the energy for our life. The month is a bit of a blur. But we made it through! by @brooklynnkohler

I didn’t take many photos in August. In truth, I was focused on surviving. Matt came home from the hospital on the 2nd. And we were all so exhausted. We went back to work. Wrapped up summer. Started school. I went back to rehearsals and worked on getting caught up. Matt started going to followup appointments and also got cleared to get back to the theatre. We all moved slowly and cautiously through August. Because we were quickly reminded not to move too fast, and Matt ended up back in the ER after he fainted. I take blame for making him go. I just had to be sure it wasn’t some underlying issue that caused it. I’m happy to report it was just a faint. We have been loved and supported with meals, yard work, little porch surprises, phone calls and check ins. Our family, friends, casts and team mates have been nothing short of cheerleaders while we try and get back to something that feels normal. We have immense gratitude for all those who have showed up, checked in, sent funny memes. I have needed that to get through the day. Not all days are created equal. But I am crying less often. And able to talk about things more openly. And in moments where I feel so lonely and I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders…it’s the small gestures of kindness that give me light. Goodbye August. You were hard. But I’m alright. by @brooklynnkohler

July 2025 taught me to love fiercely. And always listen to your gut. Be willing to accept help. Matt’s life and death situation was a miracle. One that I will do a separate reel on once I can wrap my head around all that we are going through. We have had some small changes…. Ruby’s final tournament with the Chargers as she looks to focus on high school ball. Ruby got her first part time job at the fruit stand. Matt and I both started rehearsals for upcoming shows. Celebrated with fireworks a couple times. We have been fully enveloped in love and support during this tricky time. It is overwhelming to be loved so fiercely. But I have needed it to move forward and through all this trauma. We have been given amazing grace to move forward. And I am forever grateful. 🄹 by @brooklynnkohler
