Salford was granted city status by King George V on April 21, 1926, via a Royal Charter. This honor was bestowed to mark its importance as an industrial hub and for its significant role in the Manchester Ship Canal.

Salfords oldest Rugby Club turned 157 years old this year, we would like to wish the City of Salford a joyful 100th Birthday 🎂 by @broughtonrugby
