Let’s drain the free run & fill some barrels. Woohoo. Smells great. Tastes great. Wish you were here IRL. So much content it’s two reels. #winemaker #winestagram by @bruliamwines

But they look so pretty, each bottle wearing a sparkly crown of pink glitter wax 😍. Can’t not do it. Worth the hand cramp every time. #roséofpinotnoir #winemaker #winestagram by @bruliamwines

“Cap management” is how we winemakers keep grapes mixed in with the fermenting juice. As you recall from high school biology, yeast consume sugar, make alcohol, and release CO2. The air pushes the grapes to the top of the tank leaving the fermenting juice stratified down below. Not ideal! Color, flavor, and texture live in the grapes skins, so we need the tank well mixed. Punchdowns and pumpers are two “mixing” tricks on our toolbox. Now you know!

If the 2026 rose of pinot noir is a bellwether for the vintage, we’re doing great 😊. #winewinewine #winestagram by @bruliamwines

Big day for Bruliam Wines. A shout out in the LA Times @latimes & @bloomberg . But the hero of the story is journalist @judylagrou who took time to seek out a small family winery 🥹🥹, an antidote to the bulk wine operators churning out private label wines. Don’t get me wrong- delicious, high quality wine at lower price points gives more people access to wonderful choices. I’m all for that. But I’m a small fry, so you won’t find Bruliam “at Costco now nationwide.” The best thing about wine is that there’s room for all of us. So here’s your PSA : have a glass of wine with your pals or a glass of wine with dinner tonight. Wine belongs on your dinner table. Thank you x 100 Judy Lagrou, a journalist with investigative chops, professional acumen, an Old World wine palate, and a big heart. #winemaker #winelover by @bruliamwines

My science background comes in handy when I’m reading about yeast microbiology or fermentation kinetics or acid/base buffers. But please don’t ask me what antibiotic I’d recommend for your cough or sinus infection. I’m only qualified to smush grapes these days 😅 #winemaker #winestagram by @bruliamwines

Man, the “from the vineyard” Easter egg clue really threw me 😂. Not the “woohoo, wine belongs on your dinner tables” industry message I’d hoped for… #winemaker #winestagram by @bruliamwines

This is easy to set. To make a 1% addition, measure 99 mL of rose into a beaker and pipette 1mL of Pinot Noir to make a 100 mL solution. Mix. Pour into glass. Repeat for additional color gradations adding more or less Pinot to the rose. Helpful to assess color again white background. Think pink. Drink rose 💖 #winemaker #rosé by @bruliamwines

Here are the take home bullet points:
white wine- press first / ferment juice
red wine - ferment grapes 🍇 in the tank / drain tank/ press grapes last
Once in barrel, both red and white wines traverse elevage to bottling day the same, chilling out in a cold cellar. Now you know 😉. Questions? Add them to the comments. #winemaker #harvest by @bruliamwines
