In Jan of this year I made my way to Omaha, Nebraska to take part in @bemiscenter artist residency program. Over the next three months, I met many amazing people, worked with fabricators for the first time, and tried to see as much of Omaha as was possible. ✨❤️‍🔥

One of my favorite take aways from this resi was the opportunity to meet, spend time, and share space with nine other amazing artists, all the lovely staff at bemis, and the countless visitors who joined us for talks and open studios! So many cuties in the bunch.
✨👹🫶🏾❤️‍🔥✨

Here are some recently developed 35mm photos of my time with this amazing group at this amazing residency✨🫂🥹 taken in Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts by @bryan.o_

WASSY BATS w/ @vasquezlaroche @la_maripari @bryan.o_

Wassy Fête is a party and participatory sound performance where participants show off their costumes, dance, play instruments and celebrate as a group of revelers while listening to Caribbean and Latin American music. Wassy Fête is inspired by Trinidadian Carnival as a tool for social commentary and symbolic public discourse.

Join any of the remaining Wassy Bat costume-making workshops throughout the festival to design and build your bat costume, and then come to the party on Saturday night dressed and ready for a full evening of performance, music and dancing, beginning with a sound performance by L4VE Collective, followed by collaborative sets by Chuki chuki_now and Mexican Institute of Sound @ims_mis

Wassy Fête is curated by Collective VL4E is curating the part w/ musical acts Chuki and Mexican Institute of Sound.
