Reflecting on an unforgettable experience at Paris 2024. I am incredibly proud and grateful to have had the opportunity to represent Team Ireland with my team mates at the Olympics.

Huge thanks to my family and friends for always supporting me along the way. I wouldn’t be anywhere without their love and support.

Thanks to everyone for the support back home & in the stadium. The atmosphere was electric 🙌🏽

From player to coach. 🏉🍀

Former Ireland Rugby Sevens player Bryan Mollen joins me on The Emerald Athlete.

We chat about growing up playing rugby, his journey with Irish Rugby Sevens, the skills and culture of the game, and his transition into coaching with Old Belvedere RFC and Belvedere College.

We also discuss the future of sevens in Ireland, with Bryan still playing the game with Irish-led @gael_force_sevens , and why he believes sevens deserves more opportunities to grow.

It’s easy to execute your skills when you’re fresh. But can you still do it when you’re exhausted? 🏉

Former Ireland Rugby Sevens player Bryan Mollen on one of the biggest lessons he took from the game, being able to perform the basics under fatigue and pressure.

A lesson he’s now carrying into coaching.

☘️🏉 DOUBLE COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT 🏉☘️
____

We’re delighted to announce not one, but two of our brilliant 2026 EIRE Rugby Summer Programme Coaches!

Returning for his second summer is Fergus Jemphrey. Ferg’s experience at the highest levels, notably representing Ireland Sevens, along with his energy and passion make him a fan favourite among players and coaches, and we’re thrilled to have him back.

And joining us for the first time is Bryan Mollen! Bryan has represented Ireland Sevens at two Olympics, and is currently at the forefront of @gael_force_sevens as well as coaching at Belvedere College and Old Belvedere RFC.

We look forward to welcoming both to Limerick this summer! taken in Ireland by @bryanmollen

🗣️ "It was my day job, my life, it was everything I loved"

🗣️ "They're quality players.. lying around not playing sevens"

Almost a year ago to the day, the IRFU cut the men's sevens programme. But a few players are making a comeback...

@susannamollen catches up with former Ireland internationals and the founder of @gael_force_sevens as they secured a win in their first outing in Kinsale last month.
