O & L 1 is one of four works in NYC with @uprisenyc .
The paintings respond to fabric offcuts sent in the mail from my mums quilts. As a child I remember her quilts dotted everywhere through the home, for warmth in the colder months and hung on batons as wall works. They expressed anything from home being where the heart is to her devotion for her faith. After my father passed this process of sharing what we were both working on in our studios increased. They are about family, sharing, making and loss.

I have some new work heading to NYC in a couple of weeks and a interview coming up about where my work is heading for my solo @uprisenyc next year. Feels good to be in the studio and thank you to Pat for some great process pics. More to come. X by @bryce__anderson

In 2018 @jarryd.lynagh curated an exhibition on Campbell St in Surry Hills which acted as a temporary project space for @chinaheights .The show was titled “Fact or Feeling” and consisted of a wall work and two paintings by Nicholas Eckhardt among other artists. The fashion typeface was used across both paintings and the wall work. One of these paintings was included in “Elgin St Boutique“ it felt apt given the fashion boutique narrative. It was an honour to spend time with the painting again. Thank you to the collectors who generously loaned the work for the exhibition.

Some documentation from a show I put together @residential_loan from march titled - Elgin St Boutique. @christopherhrysanidis made a beautiful dress in response to the two paintings I contributed to the show, carrying the grid composition and palette into his garment. The shop front space @residential_loan in the heart of Carlton prompted an idea to create a faux boutique/ exhibition. The show has now closed, but I am proud of how it all came together. Thank you to Lara and Carl for the space and Christopher and Nic for their contribution.

I have a small group show I’ve put together opening this Friday in Melbourne @residential_loan which is a new space at 93 Elgin st, Carlton. The show is titled Elgin St Boutique and features the work of myself, Christopher Hrysanidis and Nicholas Eckhardt.
