O & L 1 is one of four works in NYC with @uprisenyc .
The paintings respond to fabric offcuts sent in the mail from my mums quilts. As a child I remember her quilts dotted everywhere through the home, for warmth in the colder months and hung on batons as wall works. They expressed anything from home being where the heart is to her devotion for her faith. After my father passed this process of sharing what we were both working on in our studios increased. They are about family, sharing, making and loss.
