POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Honoured to have spent this week at the Houses of Parliament, invited by James MacCleary MP to a discussion on the challenges facing UK universities.

I raised an issue I care deeply about: the lack of male-specific mental-health support in higher education. With young men still being the group most at risk, and pressures rising from COVID, social media and shrinking budgets, it’s a conversation we cannot ignore.

I also highlighted how vital continued funding for university sport — especially athletics — is for wellbeing, community and opportunity.

For anyone new here: I’m Brydon, a 21-year-old student, athlete and mental-health advocate. My documentary Breaking the Circle is now used internationally to challenge stigma around male mental health — and I’m determined to keep pushing these conversations into the rooms where change happens.

Thank you to James MacCleary MP, Dr Roger Prentis, and Mazin Al-Jumaili for making this possible. Grateful, motivated, and ready for whatever comes next. 🖤

BREAKING THE CIRCLE — OFFICIAL TRAILER

A project I’ve poured my heart, love, and soul into for over a year.

This trailer just scratches the surface — the full film dives into my life: from the highest highs to the darkest moments where I wanted to end it all. It’s not just about me. It’s about mental health, and what I believe we all need to do to make a change.

I’m sharing this because I want to make the world a better place.

I’m asking — pleading — with you to share it too. Share the post, to your story, to your friends, to your family — whoever it is. Urge them to do the same. Like, comment, and share. Use the Hashtags, Tag me! If there’s something you could do - just do it! This could affect someone you love and you don’t even know — your mum, dad, brother, sister, best friend… I can’t stress enough how important this is.

This project needs to be absolutely massive.

This is only the beginning.

I’m here to change the f***ing world.

With love and gratitude,
Brydon Duncan x

Breaking The Circle is a powerful and deeply personal exploration of mental health, breaking the silence around a subject often left in the dark. At just 20 years old, Brydon Duncan courageously shares his own journey, offering a raw and honest account of struggle, survival, and hope.

With support from family, friends, and unexpected allies, Brydon sets out to challenge the stigma, confront rising suicide rates, and inspire change — one conversation at a time.

A message from Brydon Duncan:

After nearly two years of work,
I am proud to present to you:
Breaking the Circle

May you find something in it that moves you,
that resonates with you,
that stays with you.

And if nothing else, may it remind you of this:
In a world that seems to grow ever sadder...
Human connection is our only wealth.

I believe that more than ever.

With love and gratitude,
Brydon Duncan

It’s unfortunately come to my attention over recent weeks that even where I am in life right now - I still seem to come to struggles regarding my autism. I still face prejudice - I still struggle to fit in - I still feel too uncomfortable to be me - I still struggle in my own little world.

It is clear to me that as someone who is able to communicate the way they feel, think, and love - I want to use this platform to not only provide a better understanding for those of you watching - but as a tool to better myself and learn.

With let be and gratitude,

Brydon

European Clubs 2023 🇮🇹

Well, that was a nice wrap up to the 2023 season!

Last weekend, I was given the opportunity to represent GB 🇬🇧 in Rome at the U20 European Club Championships, along with my Blackheath Teammates.

The weekend was a success, and the team put in a performance that we can be really proud of! Personally, I met some amazing new people from all over Europe, and have made some friends who I look forward to seeing again in the (hopefully not too distant) future. Also, PB'ing in an event like this was a big cherry on the top!

And of course, I can't forget to mention that Blackheath won the national championships again! Being one of the more senior members of the squad, this was my last ever YDL. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and I am happy to have contributed to the clubs European qualification next season.

Was it the season that I wanted? No, it wasn't. And if I'm being honest, the last few weeks have been very tough. About 5 weeks ago, I had a bit of a breakdown. Nothing any of you should be worried about, and I have got the help I've been needing. Anyway, my coach recommended I finished my season there and then. I agreed, however I still wanted to finish these last two comps. I haven't trained since, which made performing so well this weekend so special.

So, what now? One year of full-time training. I'm taking a year out to train before I (hopefully) head out to the USA 🇺🇸.

This year wasn't what I wanted. However the fire inside has never been bigger, and I have never been so ready to begin winter training.

This is all a two year plan. Big things are coming. Watch this space.

With love and gratitude,
