A few years ago, I decided to venture into something new, and in 2021, I joined Keeping Track to start writing about music.
A few months later, I had the opportunity to interview a band I had been following for some time. @hollowcoves was the first band I had the opportunity to interview; it was all so new to me, but being in front of Matt and Ryan, even if only virtually, was transformative.

That interview was essential for me - it happened while I was in college, and if I’m on a different path today, it’s thanks to that. Being a journalist today is something I love, and Hollow Coves was part of that.

Beyond that, this band has been with me through many moments, happy and sad - and some moments where I was just ???
But if there was one song that always made me feel something, it was Patience. And I always wanted to know the meaning of this track for you guys, until one day you answered me in a premiere video on YouTube: “Patience is basically about waiting for the right person instead of rushing into something with someone who isn’t right for you.

Building something that will last.”

Another track that makes me feel cathartic is Anew. The lyrics “Don’t let this life you have slip away” kept me alive, and one day, in a comment on Twitter, Ryan wrote this excerpt on a piece of paper, took a photo, and I was finally able to get a tattoo of it.

Today, I am grateful for every moment that your music has accompanied me (and will accompany me). I am grateful for meeting you and, in particular, I am grateful for you playing my favorite song, Patience, at your first concert here in Brazil. I hope that January 19, 2026 was as special for you as it was for me.

I hope to meet you again someday, even if by chance, just like I met you at that coffee shop.
