ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith said Friday he accepted an invitation to a White House dinner with President Donald Trump because he wanted to confront the president face to face on issues affecting Black Americans, particularly historically Black colleges and universities, even after Trump publicly labeled him an “arrogant fool,” a “low IQ individual,” “dumb as a rock” and a “loudmouth huckster” earlier this year.

The dinner took place Thursday evening and lasted more than four hours, Smith said on his “Straight Shooter” podcast. It also included comedian Bill Maher and musician Kid Rock. Kid Rock described the gathering as “epic” during a Friday appearance on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.” Trump told reporters Friday the group “had a good time,” talked about “everything” for a long time, and that “Stephen A. is great.”

According to Smith, Trump invited Maher to bring anyone he wanted — “even one of his lunatic leftist friends.” Maher invited Smith. Trump reportedly questioned whether Smith would attend, but Smith said he “immediately accepted.”

Donald Trump, Stephen A. Smith, Kid Rock, and Bill Maher had an epic dinner together.

Rock said, "it was epic." This was Rock, Maher, and Trump's second meal together; their fourth had been with Dana White. But Smith took White's place at the table this time.

These concerns included unemployment among Black women, the financing of HBCUs, the war in Iran, the treachery of Afghan interpreters, and communism.

Trump previously called Smith an arrogant fool and a low IQ individual.

Princess Santiago, the mother of NBA Hall of Famer Paul Pierce’s young son, has returned to court seeking an additional $40,000 in legal fees and payment of a previously ordered $10,000 for a forensic accountant, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

In a motion filed this month, Santiago alleges that Pierce has not fully complied with discovery requests in their ongoing child support case. She claims he provided incomplete bank statements, omitting pages, and failed to supply complete information about trust distributions and assets. Santiago further asserts that Pierce did not produce requested records related to a cannabis company, full details of his Fox Sports 1 income, or disclosure of an ownership interest in a commercial property.

Santiago also states that Pierce has not paid the $10,000 the court previously ordered him to provide so she could retain a forensic accountant to review his finances. In addition to compelling that payment, she is requesting the extra $40,000 toward her legal costs.

The NFL’s coaching world is facing another uncomfortable conversation about race. This time, a recruiting firm’s own words are raising eyebrows. And honestly, the memo did not need to say much to get people talking.

A recruiting firm assessing Brian Flores as a potential NFL coaching candidate described him as “polished and a good presenter despite growing up in Brownsville, Brooklyn (same as Mike Tyson).”

The firm, Korn Ferry, produced the memo on Flores for the Las Vegas Raiders during their search for a head coach in 2024. Flores’ lawyers had previously called it “racist and retaliatory.”

In the memo, Korn Ferry listed Flores’ strengths and weaknesses in two columns.

Under strengths, Korn Ferry praised how his schemes and blitzes confused opposing offenses and then included the reference to the neighborhood where Flores grew up, whose residents are predominantly Black or Hispanic. It added, “He was able to build a strong friendship with a billionaire’s son, which gave him opportunities to socialize and learn how to build relationships with white-collar and upper-class individuals.”

Golden State Warriors center Kristaps Porziņģis said Wednesday he does not have HIV or AIDS, addressing persistent social media speculation as he continues to recover from an undisclosed health issue that has kept him out of training camp and preseason.

In a post on X, the 31-year-old Latvian said he is working with doctors and specialists and is “getting better and better,” while asking for patience. He added that dealing with health issues that have been difficult to pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout his career, has been frustrating, but that he expects to feel well again soon.

In a follow-up post, Porziņģis wrote: “I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I’m in the best hands. So everyone can relax now … and I don’t have hiv or aids.”

Netflix is developing a documentary in its critically acclaimed Untold sports series on the case of Daejon Labrayae Love, the California man accused of posing as a San Francisco 49ers wide receiver while allegedly defrauding women out of more than $1 million through romance and investment schemes, according to an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter.

The project, titled Untold: Wide Deceiver, will be told primarily through firsthand accounts from those affected by the alleged scheme. A source close to production told The Hollywood Reporter that the film will focus on the women’s stories and is not expected to include participation from Love himself. No director or full participant list has been announced.

Netflix confirmed the project on its Tudum site, describing it as an exploration of one of the most viral stories of 2026. The documentary is produced by Propagate and Stardust Frames in association with North of Now and The Cut. Executive producers include Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Maclain Way, Chapman Way, Ryan Duffy, Isabel San Vargas, Aaron Ginsburg, William Green, Andrew Renzi, and Nick Boak.

Sean “Diddy” Combs held his own but suffered a head injury in a prison fight with Jamaican drug lord Christopher “Dudus” Coke at a New Jersey federal facility, according to multiple sources cited by TMZ.

The altercation took place last Friday at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix, the low-security prison where Combs is serving a 50-month sentence. Sources told TMZ that Combs, 56, came out on the losing end and sustained a head injury serious enough that prison officials transported him by ambulance early Saturday to an outside medical facility for treatment. He was conscious and speaking when returned to the prison later that morning, the outlet previously reported. Both men were subsequently placed in the Special Housing Unit — commonly known as solitary confinement — for a two-week period as punishment. Combs was already in the SHU following an earlier NBC News report; the fight occurred during one of his daily breaks from confinement.
