Hello Friends.

The next meeting of the Fort Vancouver Regional Tattooists’ Mutual Aid Society will be held on October 1st at 8pm. The storytelling theme is “Success”. Successful tattoos, successful customers, successful role models, successful interactions, what is your idea of success in tattooing or in general, what constitutes a successful tattoo, when did or will you consider yourself successful, take it wherever you want.

Also, I will be relinquishing my chairmanship of the FVR Tat.M.A.S. At the end of the year. I think I achieved what I set out to achieve. I think there is enough momentum, and enough of a core group of people willing to help, for the association to continue. Some people have great ideas for future projects, so hopefully there will be a way to realize them. If not, December will be the last meeting, which will be a holiday party and fiercely competitive tattoo contest. (Commemorative thongs will be on the line.) So if you’re a professional tattooist who hasn’t made it to one of our events, get in while you can.
See you at the Tat.M.A.S.! by @bswelt

The rains have begun. Back in the studio. For no apparent reason, working on a series for a potential show at an unknown location in order to lose money and feel awkward. In any case, it’s nice to be quiet and listen to WFMU again. Nothing for sale yet. by @bswelt

Can’t decide which of these to submit for the Fort Vancouver Regional Tattooists’ Mutual Aid Society flash poster project. Both feel sufficiently autobiographical, but it seems like the hand might actually get tattooed a few times. Thoughts? by @bswelt

Greetings Friends!

The next meeting of the Fort Vancouver Regional Tattooists Mutual Aid Society will take place on September 3rd at 8pm. The storytelling theme will be “Spooky”. ESP, ghosts, aliens, near death experiences, synchronicities, psychedelic encounters, astral projection, devil worship, cattle mutilations, and high weirdness of all varieties, whether directly experienced, or second or third hand, as long as its eerie. Come along even if you don’t have any personal experiences that can’t be explained by Junior High School science class. By the time you leave, you’ll be utterly convinced that everyone around you is completely insane.

Kevin Hamlin will be collecting the images for the poster project. We’ll be getting it printed soon, so he needs to have them at this meeting.

Six year old back piece. (He was big for six, so I figured it was ethical to tattoo him.) DM for September appointments. by @bswelt

Hello Friends. The Fort Vancouver Regional Tattooists Mutual Aid Society will be having its 2026 Beach Conference on 9/15 on the Oregon Coast. Because of hotel and banquet deposits, we need everyone who’s eating or staying signed up this week. If you didn’t receive the email with all the details, DM me with your email address and I’ll send it to you. There will be campfires on the beach, a swimming pool, overpriced mediocre banquet food, plus tattoo contests and more. It will be enjoyable and memorable. Please remember to sign up with @m_a_freeman this week so we can get the hotel contract signed and so I don’t have to pay for meals that don’t get eaten. ACT NOW!!! by @bswelt
