Dan Kane of Massachusetts Maritime has been named the 2026 #MASCAC Male-Scholar Athlete of the Year after concluding his outstanding men's lacrosse career for the Buccaneers. The award is voted on by the Athletic Directors around the conference.

The LEC announced its 2026 Spring Academic Awards last week. Seven Buccaneer men's lacrosse student-athletes made their way on to the LEC All-Academic team and 20 found a spot in the LEC Academic Honor Roll!

Our 2026 Massachusetts Maritime Academy Alumni Association Male Athlete of the Year is Men's lacrosse's Dan Kane!

Kane tallied 141 goals and 126 with two 40+ goal seasons. He was the cornerstone of the Buc offense, helping them to not only their first LEC Championship but also their first NCAA Tournament berth in program and school history. In 2026, he was named LEC Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year as well as a spot on the All-LEC First Team, a NEILA All-Region nod and spots in the USILA All-Star Game at Randolph Macon in Virginia and the NEILA All-Star Game at Trinity in Connecticut. He leaves the Buccaneers as the all-time leader in points and became the second player in program history with 100-goals and 100 assists in their career.

Congratulations, Dan on everything you accomplished as a Buccaneer on the field and in the classroom.

At the USILA North/South Senior All-Star game at Randolph Macon College on Friday, Bucs senior attackman Dan Kane netted two goals and added and assist for the North squad, leading the team in scoring. The South went on to win the game, 15-9.
