The wealthy get Puerto Rico as a lifestyle, an escape, while the locals have to deal with the consequences of being a United States colony. None of this will change until we are an independent nation. by @budpuertorico

The electricity rate in Puerto Rico has almost doubled since American privatizer LUMA took over. Our people are paying exorbitant amounts for an unreliable service that just keeps getting worse. Meanwhile, corporations are raking in the profits.

This is what colonial exploitation looks like in Puerto Rico. It will only end with our nation's freedom. We need energy independence and political independence!

Another day, another rate hike for basic services. Puerto Ricans pay significantly higher rates than the average person living in the U.S., yet these services continue to fail.

The power grid is another symptom of the deadly disease that is colonialism. Only sovereignty and independence will prevent future crises caused by the U.S. federal government.

Today, our Board Member @lorddeanington testified before the New York City Council in support of Resolutions 494, 27, and 28 addressing Project Esencia, Puerto Rico’s debt crisis, and the unelected fiscal board.
