This is what I mean whenever I say I’m grateful to flowers, or that they’ve made me bloom. I know what it feels like to live now 🎍🦋 And my job feels like a make believe dream but it’s real (I pinch myself to check) ☁️🫧 taken in South Curl Curl Beach by @budsofjupiter

SEEKER LAUNCH PARTY

Now *that’s* a party. What a fitting celebration of what @seekercafe means to Cabramatta.

Words are insufficient to express my gratitude to Seeker. They took me on as their resident florist when I had very little to my portfolio and was still in floristry school. I’m a little fish in a symbiotic partnership with a beloved whale in the community. Seeker doesn’t just provide gallery space for me to explore the capability of my hands, the team nurtures it and supports my growth as a florist and creative. As a new florist my potential is still unknown but Seeker gives me room and opportunity to unlock it.

Seeker means so much to the wider community because it’s a third space for gathering and mixing and doing life together. It’s where I voluntarily go even when I’m not floralling for the space. Among familiar faces, while sipping on our beverages, we check in on each other’s families, work situations, the plans and dreams we have. I receive enthusiasm and support while I set up each floral installation and have made so many friends of Buds through the visibility of my work here.

The launch party was buzzing because the community Seeker has created all showed up to the event in loving support. Seeker makes the locals proud to be here. And we absolutely showed it last Sunday.

It was an honour to floral for the event and each piece was a love letter to give back to this more-than-a-cafe that has done so much for me. As an ode to where it first began I recreated my first ever Seeker install of stripped sunnies and green cymbidium orchid (I included a photo of the first install from October). I continued this theme for the rest of the event for cohesion and as a celebration of how far both Seeker and I have come in tandem. I was especially thrilled to see my pieces bouncing along the @blendtheory____ DJ set with the iconic Pai Lau gates in the background. I’ve peaked.

After setting up the pieces for the event I got behind my own stall where so many of you showed up and bought my makes. I had the best day and am so so grateful for this community.

Love,
