It is my pleasure to introduce to you all:
CH RockHaven’s Party On The Holodeck CGCA CGCU ATT, the 2026 Cane Corso Association of America Regional Specialty Winners Dog, affectionately known as “Tiberius.” For the last two years, I have been raising, training, handling, and showing this sweet baby to his Championship. He has been solely Owner Handled by me all over Arizona, but this has been far from a solo project.
The biggest thank you to my parents who, as Tiberius’ co-owners, have helped raise and care for this incredible dog, who have come to every show, who have stood ringside filming and critiquing and encouraging us all the way. Thank you for nurturing my passion and enabling me to chase my dream of having a champion show dog.
The biggest thank you to Shawna Swanson our show trainer who has been teaching us since Rivian was a baby. For always welcoming us to class and allowing my out of standard Rivian to learn in class without judgment. Rivian walked so Tiber and I could GAIT 😝
Thank you to everyone at handling class who has been so welcoming, kind, and supportive to us.
Thank you to @mountzionkennels for helping me early on and always picking up the phone to help me.
A HUGE thank you to @covenant.canecorso who became more than a competitor, but a mentor, guide, and friend. Your kindness towards me in and out of the ring means the world to me, and I would not have had nearly as pleasant of a showing experience without you. Thank you for always answering my dumb questions and giving me a heads up for ring times and etiquette. I truly believe you represent the best of this sport. So excited for your new adventure as a mom!!
Lastly, a big thank you to all of my friends and family who have come to my shows or practices and cheered us on. Whether it was holding dogs, wiping down dogs, watering dogs, watching dogs, talking about dogs, helping me get situated, driving 4+ hours to out of town shows and staying in pet friendly airbnbs, I am truly grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Especially @talia.debrigida and @c3_98 for everything you’ve done to make this possible.

Service dog handlers: would you ask strangers to stop taking photos of your service dog?

There’s a lot of different sentiments surrounding taking photos of service dogs. How do YOU personally feel about this behavior? Is it problematic? Is it normal? How do you typically respond? I’m curious to hear your thoughts! taken in Universal Studios Hollywood by @bugatti.sd

“How is Bugatti doing?”

This is the long-awaited update for Bugatti. I’ve gotten this question several times, and I’ve been meaning to give you all a proper update. It’s been nearly a year since Bugatti was diagnosed with cancer, and I wanted to thank you all for being patient while we emotionally process and adjust.

For context: at this time in 2023, I was laying the foundation for a new prospect. Bugatti was five years old, and ideally had 4-5 more years of work left. My hope was to research breeders, interview, and get on the wait list to potentially bring home a prospect in 2025. Bugatti would be seven, and I would raise puppy alongside her, working them together with Bugatti’s guidance.

Then the cancer diagnosis came.

Everything was derailed, and my prospect plans were out the door. Bugatti had surgery to remove the cancer, and is currently cancer-free. We are so grateful! However, Bugatti did not recover mentally. After consulting several veterinarians and doctors, we believe Bugatti had an adverse reaction to the anesthesia.

I wake up some mornings, and she’s not the same dog. She can be distant, neurotic, depressed. Other days, she’s Bugatti again! Lovable, sweet, intelligent, and excited to work. Friends and family who know her have witnessed this change, and are also devastated.

Bottom line: Bugatti is unpredictable, and cannot be trusted in a service dog role. She has been officially retired for nearly a year, and never got to work alongside Rivian.

But that’s okay. I love her, no matter what version of her I get each day. She was always there for me when I wasn’t at my best, and I will work every day to return the favor. I know what it’s like to not realize how many days you have left with your dog, and I’m going to live every day I get with Bugatti to the fullest.

We’ve finished up her Rally Advanced, her Fetch Intermediate, and her Farm Dog titles. We’re also working towards higher levels, fastcat, obedience, and scent work. We do fun things, as long as she finds them fun.

It still breaks my heart to tack up Rivian, and leave Bu standing there confused as to why I won’t bring her with me when I leave the house. by @bugatti.sd

In the United States, there is NO SUCH THING as a service dog certificate or service dog ID. Per the ADA: neither of those things are considered acceptable proof of the validity of a service dog, as they do not ensure the dog is actually trained to mitigate a person’s disability. Anyone can go purchase a “service dog starter pack” and certify their jar of peanut butter. I’m not kidding.

Those scam sites are useless and designed to take your money and run. If you want to ACTUALLY get a service dog, go check out my reel about how to do so the right way. by @bugatti.sd

DONT❌DO❌THIS‼️ This is so illegal. This is so dangerous. This is so morally and ethically wrong. Let me say: we LOVE well behaved pets on planes! They’re cute! They’re sweet! They deserve to travel, too! But this is NOT the way to do it. Who here wants to list some reasons why this is plain WRONG? by @bugatti.sd

Owner training is so difficult.

Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves. You are essentially responsible for raising the thing that can make or break your accessibility, your independence, your future. And that *thing* - is a living, breathing, intelligent animal with complex feelings, emotions, and memories.

That’s so much pressure. So, so much pressure. Please take a second to breathe and acknowledge all the incredible things you’ve accomplished so far. That’s impressive! That’s no small thing! Pat yourself on the back.

And know that you aren’t alone. I’ve been through it once with Bugatti, and now again with Rivian. No two stories (or pups) are the same! But you have a whole community here to support you, to love you, to empathize with you. You are a part of something incredible: the journey to training a service dog, complete with all the ups and downs and joyful moments and bumps in the road. You are here, and so are we. Is there paperwork for service dogs?
In 2020, the USDOT updated the ACAA with many changes, including the allowance of a specific form that airlines can require service dog handlers to fill out. It’s called the U.S. Department of Transportation Service Animal Air Transportation Form, and the airlines require this to be filled out and presented prior to traveling.

>>Stay tuned tomorrow for more differences between the ACAA vs the ADA!
>>Want the form? The link is in my bio!
>>Want help filling it out? Subscribe to my Insta and get access to my videos explaining how I fill it out. by @bugatti.sd

What wins are you celebrating?

Some of you likely have service dogs that you are currently training. Some of you may have sport dogs that you are working up. Others may have pet dogs that are learning obedience or working through reactivity. No matter your reason for having a dog - all wins deserve to be celebrated! Dog training and ownership is an experience full of ups and downs in a never-ending journey of growth. Sometimes our victories seem like not a big deal and aren’t worth taking the time to acknowledge. But it’s important to celebrate all the wins as they come! In this way, you can take time to recognize the process it took to get to where you’re at, and you’ll have a better appreciation for your dog, too!

For me, I’ve been doing my first AKC events! This was super exciting, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my amazing friends and family - my support team is amazing and I love you all so much 🥰 That being said, I’m so incredibly proud of Bugatti and Rivian. Both dogs recently passed their Farm Dog Tests, and are officially certified! We have also been practicing with their retrieving ability, and both V and Bu have their Fetch Test Intermediate titles! The judges especially loved Bugatti and Rivian’s runs, and I heard from multiple judges how beautiful and capable my Corsos are 🥹 It was super fun to represent the breed well in an environment dominated by Malinois and Gundogs. We are working our way towards the Retriever titles (the highest of the fetch tests), and I think they can do it 👏🏼

What wins are you guys celebrating? Whether big or small, let’s share them all so that dog owners alike can support one another and encourage each other.

You and your journey with your dog are valid, valued, and loved ✨ by @bugatti.sd

Your dog can hear better and smell better than you. And when anything or anyone wants to remain hidden, those two senses are paramount to staying safe. A good Corso will let you know when something is out of place or when someone is hidden from your view.

On our walk today, my male Cane Corso Rivian stopped short suddenly and stared across the street. Though I only saw bushes, I knew better than to disregard his warning. No sooner had I pulled my phone out, a coyote emerged from the bushes.

A few weeks ago, I went to a gym that shut down for the holiday (I had permission to be there). I was under the impression I was alone in the building. While working out, Rivian suddenly perked up and stared. I stopped my work out and listened. I couldn’t hear anything. But I knew better than to ignore him, and went to investigate. Sure enough, down the hallway and around the corner was another person who had just entered the building quietly and was starting their workout. I would not have known they were there otherwise.

In neither of these scenarios was I in danger. However, I will always reward this behavior. Because there WILL be times someone or something has bad intentions, and the sooner I know about it, the sooner I can deal with it 💪🏼 I will NOT be a victim. I will ALWAYS trust my Corso. by @bugatti.sd
