So, What’s the Website Plan? | I Build & Redesign Websites for Local Service Businesses | Websites that increase your ROI.

POSTS STORIES REELS

This homepage already has a lot going for it.

But having the right information isn’t the same as creating the right journey.

I looked at it through one lens:

What does the visitor need next?

Here’s what I’d change →

#WebsiteTeardown #WebsiteRedesign #WebDesign #WebsiteStrategy #ConversionDesign by @buildwithsamia

𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀?

People are visiting your website.

But your phone stays quiet.

No bookings.
Barely any quote requests.

Here's what might be going wrong:

→ You're attracting people who don't need your service.

→ Visitors can't see why they should choose you.

→ Interested customers don't know what to do next.

Sometimes, the fix is simpler than you think.

A clear message.

Real customer reviews.

A visible "Get a Quote" button.

Small details that make it easier for the right people to reach out.

Because more traffic means little if it never turns into real business.

P.S. Business owners, what's harder right now? Getting website visitors or turning them into inquiries? by @buildwithsamia

𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵.

Launch day is not the end.

Before you sign, ask:

→ Can I update content myself?
→ Who owns the website and accounts?
→ What happens after handover?
→ Can I add new pages easily?
→ Will small changes need the developer again?

A good website should:

→ be easy to manage
→ grow with your business
→ reduce unnecessary dependency

You’re not just choosing who builds it.

You’re choosing how easy your website will be to manage after launch.

P.S. Before you sign, ask one simple question: What happens after launch? by @buildwithsamia

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?

Before they’ve even spoken to you.

You ask for:

→ budget
→ timeline
→ company details
→ project goals
→ extra information

None of these questions are wrong.

But the timing matters.

If the first step feels too demanding, some good prospects may hesitate.

𝗔 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲:

→ name
→ email
→ what they need help with

Then ask the deeper questions once the conversation starts.

The form should make it easier to start a conversation, not harder.

P.S. Would you fill out your own enquiry form before saying hello? by @buildwithsamia

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀?

Your website may be leaving too much work for you.

If prospects keep asking:

→ What exactly do you do?
→ Which service is right for me?
→ How does your process work?
→ What happens next?

Your website may not be preparing them well enough before the call.

A website should not replace the sales conversation.

But it should make that conversation 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿.

Before someone books a call, they should already understand:

→ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼
→ 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽
→ 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺
→ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁

Then the call can focus on what actually matters:

Their goals.
Their situation.
And whether you are the right fit.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.

What question do you find yourself answering on almost every sales call?

𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱.

Sometimes the website is still good.

It just needs the right fixes.

That might mean:

→ 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴
→ 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
→ 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
→ 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

But sometimes the problem goes deeper.

A rebuild may make more sense when:

→ the site has been patched too many times
→ small changes keep causing new problems
→ the structure no longer fits the business
→ updating the site feels harder than it should

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁.

It’s to choose what makes the business easier to understand and easier to grow.

Sometimes that means fixing what works.

Sometimes it means starting fresh.

Before you redesign everything, ask:

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴?

If you can answer that clearly, you’ll know whether to fix it or rebuild it.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘄.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿?

As a business grows, the website usually grows too.

New services.
New pages.
New messages.

But after a while, more can create confusion.

You start to see things like:

→ 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 getting buried
→ 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 staying too visible
→ 𝗧𝗼𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 asking for attention
→ 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 working harder to understand what matters

𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲.

Sometimes it means deciding:

→ what deserves more attention
→ what should move down
→ what no longer needs to be there

A growing website should not just get bigger.
It should get 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿.

If someone visited your website today, would they know what matters most?

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱

Not because the design looks old.

Because your business has changed.

Maybe you:

→ added new services
→ changed your audience
→ raised your prices
→ improved your process
→ grew your team
→ changed your positioning

Your website changed too.

But only in small pieces.

Over time, those updates can stop telling one clear story.

You may start to notice:

→ your best service is hard to find
→ old messaging still gets attention
→ important pages are buried
→ prospects ask basic questions
→ you explain too much on sales calls

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻.

It has simply fallen behind the business.

And that does not always mean you need a full redesign.

Sometimes you just need to update:

→ the 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲
→ the 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲
→ the 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

So the website can catch up with the business you have 𝗻𝗼𝘄.

Not the one you had when it was first built.

Has your website kept up with your business?

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱?

Not because it looks bad.

But because it starts with the wrong information.

When you know your business well, it’s easy to lead with:

→ Who you are
→ Your story
→ Your experience
→ Why you're different

That information matters.

𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁.

A potential customer is usually trying to answer one simple question:

“Can this business help me with what I need?”

If they have to scroll, read and figure that out for themselves, the homepage is creating unnecessary friction.

A strong homepage should quickly make three things clear:

→ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼
→ 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽
→ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁

Your story can come after that.

Sometimes a website doesn’t need more content.

It just needs the 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in the right order.

When you look at your homepage, what does it answer first?

#WebsiteStrategy #ServiceBusiness #BusinessGrowth #Founders by @buildwithsamia

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲?

Sounds strange.
But not every enquiry is a good one.

Sometimes, you get:

→ Wrong budget
→ Wrong expectations
→ Wrong service
→ Wrong type of client

And every wrong-fit enquiry takes 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆.

That’s why I think a website should do more than just bring people in.

It should also help people understand:

→ 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵
→ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼
→ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁
→ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀

So the right people can think:

𝗬𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲.

And the wrong-fit ones can realise it 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲
.
That means:

→ Fewer wrong-fit enquiries
→ Less wasted time
→ Better conversations

Because the goal isn’t always:

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀?

Sometimes, the better question is:

𝗔𝗺 𝗜 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀?

I broke down the idea in the carousel ↓

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 — 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀?

A website can look polished and still feel confusing.

What usually goes wrong:

• People leave when they have to think too much
• Interest drops when the next step feels unclear
• Trust gets weaker when the message feels too generic

Good design is not just about looking better.

It’s about making the experience feel clear, easy, and trustworthy.

Less friction. Better response.
