Just enjoying a beautiful day in Southport, NC, and figured it was the perfect spot for a little handstand practice! πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈπŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ Got some pretty cool footage out on the pier, feeling like I was filming some inspirational fitness video... πŸ˜‚ Little did I know, πŸ‘€πŸŽ₯ apparently, my handstand practice turned into a Mission Impossible surveillance operation! 🀣 Always fun finding new places to practice and enjoying the progress along the way! #Handstand #Calisthenics #SouthportNC #FitnessOver40 #HandstandPractice by @builtbyben86
New handstand PR!! πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯ 30 SECONDS!! πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ My previous best for a freestanding handstand on flat hands was around 17–18 seconds, so I almost doubled it! I'm seriously excited about this one! And sorry about the camera angle! πŸ˜‚ I was honestly just recording to see how long I could hold it, not planning on posting it. Definitely wasn't thinking about making it Instagram-worthy! Haha! But 30 seconds was too exciting not to share! It's pretty awesome seeing the progress from all the practice. Still plenty of work to do, but I'm enjoying the journey! #Handstand #Calisthenics #HandstandProgress #BodyweightTraining #FitnessOver40 by @builtbyben86
New parallette handstand PR! πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈπŸ”₯ About 15 seconds this time! My last recorded best was around 9 seconds, so it's awesome to see the progress paying off. Handstands have been one of the most rewarding skills I've worked on. Every practice session adds a little more balance, control, and confidence. On to the next milestone! πŸ’ͺ #Handstand #Calisthenics #FitnessOver40 #BodyweightTraining #Progress by @builtbyben86
New PR! πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈπŸ”₯ 18-second flat-hand freestanding handstand! It's my longest recorded hold on flat hands so far. As soon as I hit 18 seconds, I spent the rest of the session chasing 20... πŸ˜… Not todayβ€”but I'll be back. Every second is earned. One practice session at a time. #Handstand #Calisthenics #FitnessOver40 #BodyweightTraining #Progress by @builtbyben86
745 lbs on the seated leg press. πŸ’ͺ🦡 Slowly getting my strength back, and it's been fun seeing the numbers climb again. There's still plenty of work to do, but every workout is another step forward. Just staying consistent, trusting the process, and enjoying the journey. πŸ”₯ #LegDay #SeatedLegPress #StrengthTraining #FitnessOver40 #WilmingtonNC by @builtbyben86

45 lb weighted straight bar dips added today. πŸ’ͺ The "this is really heavy" face definitely made an appearance. πŸ˜‚ One of my favorite parts of weighted calisthenics is taking the weight off afterward. It's amazing how light your body feels when you suddenly lose 45 pounds. That's a feeling that never gets old. #weighteddips #fitnessjourney #calisthenics #over40fitness #strengthtraining by @builtbyben86
Shoulders & arms today. πŸ’ͺ Wrapped up the workout with some handstand practice and my first recorded attempts at an elbow lever. It definitely isn't perfect, but that's exactly why I wanted to document it. Looking forward to seeing how much it improves over the next few months. πŸ™ƒ #ElbowLever #Handstand #Calisthenics #Over40Fitness #FitnessJourney by @builtbyben86
Happy Fourth of July! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŽ† Grateful for this country, time with family, and another summer making memories. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Independence Day! #FourthOfJuly #CarolinaBeach #Freedom #FamilyTime #SummerNights by @builtbyben86
Some skills take a lot more patience than strength. Every session is another chance to build balance, control, and confidence. One rep, one hold, one day at a time. πŸ”₯πŸ’ͺπŸ™ƒ #Handstand #Calisthenics #Over40Fitness #FitnessJourney #Consistency by @builtbyben86
A couple clips from this past weekend at Wrightsville Beach. πŸŒŠπŸ™ƒ Spent some time practicing handstands with my oldest son while the kite surfers were out enjoying the wind. It was definitely a challenge doing handstands in the sand, but it made for an awesome afternoon and an even better backdrop. Always good to get outside, move a little, and make memories together. So excited to see what we try next!πŸ€™ #Handstands #FamilyFitness #BeachWorkout #FitnessJourney #WrightsvilleBeach by @builtbyben86
