Bringing life to their final novel of the year, Finally Seen, the 5th graders designed their own dumplings with @bumble_beatriz. 🥟😋

Choosing fillings from veggies to pork, sauces from chili oil to yogurt curry, and shapes from traditional to monster dumplings, the 5th graders showed their character, personality, and thirst for new experiences. 🫑🍖

Shoutout to @bumble_beatriz aligning her expertise to the needs and wants of the explorers, and shoutout to community partner Jeffrey Lin for bringing real-life memories of making dumplings at home with his mother to the explorers! 🥢💜 taken in Norfolk, Virginia by @bumble_beatriz

The hour is always happy HAB! 😉

Throughout Term 2 in Mr. Dashiell’s class, explorers read Lions of Little Rock and talked about character and symbolism. They used that knowledge to work alongside Chef @bumble_beatriz to craft mocktails based on the character traits their heroes represent. 🦹🏾‍♀️🦸🏽

They then invited their heroes in to create everything from Apple Cider Vanilla Milkshakes 🍨 to Honey Lemon Mango Jasmine Tea 🍵 to show their appreciation for their heroes.

Cheers to thoughtful, intentional, and tasty learning inside the classroom. 💜 taken in Norfolk, Virginia by @bumble_beatriz

Kite in (Mexican) Spanish is "papalote."
Papalote comes from the náhuatl word papalotl, and it means butterfly 🦋.
Volamos papalotes, and I was the happiest person on earth. 🖤 by @bumble_beatriz
