Join us to celebrate the opening of our new exhibition season, bringing together two major presentations by senior Aṉangu artist and ngangkari (traditional healer) Betty Muffler, and Pakistani-born Australian artist Mehwish Iqbal.

The weekend will feature talks with the exhibiting artists, live music by Chikchika and Blue Divers, and workshops.

Entry to the Art Museum is free.

B.A.M.M is going ahead this weekend, rain or shine.

A few showers are forecast, but there are plenty of undercover areas across Bundanon to explore, along with pop-up food and beverage options throughout the day.

🟡 Drop into Creative Play with James Gulliver Hancock, a free, all-ages artmaking workshop running from 10am–3pm
🟡 Experience Echo Mapping, a dance performance by Azzam Mohamed and Jack Prest from 2–3pm, free for all Art Museum ticket holders

Please note that as we are a wildlife refuge, domestic animals are not permitted at Bundanon.

Marring Country, a new native plant nursery, has taken root at Bundanon 🌱

Created and managed by Indigenous-owned and operated organisation Marring @marring____ Marring Country will propagate local native plants for use across Bundanon and the wider region.

As the nursery grows, Bundanon and Marring will work together to develop learning programs centred on caring for Country.

The project has been made possible through support from the NSW Government, helping establish the foundations for a long-term initiative that will deliver environmental, cultural and economic benefits across the region.

We look forward to sharing more as it grows.

What makes a great story? Where do characters come from?

Join @berrywritersfestival at Bundanon for a morning of storytelling for families.

The morning will feature talks and readings by children’s authors including Kate Simpson, Aura Parker, Jennie Orchard, Clayton Zane Comber and Conor McCammon.

Join us on 3 and 4 October for Echo Mapping by longtime collaborators Azzam Mohamed and Jack Prest.

Stripped back to its rawest elements—no sets, no spectacle—this is dance in its purest form, just body, voice, and live music in constant conversation.

Jack’s live score moves from subtle textures to thundering beats to ethereal trumpet, while Azzam performs both voice and body. His movement shifts from commanding stillness to fluid yet intense choreography, singing Sudanese melodies recorded, looped and manipulated by Jack into a mesmerising sonic atmosphere.

Performed in the round, Echo Mapping places you at the centre of the experience, surrounded by the evocative Arthur Boyd paintings of the Man on Fire: Visions of Nebuchadnezzar exhibition.

Arthur Boyd's paintings depict the Old Testament story of King Nebuchadnezzar, who, exiled by God for his unchecked pride, was condemned to live as an animal in the wilderness for seven years. This allegory of a powerful man, fallen from divine grace yet redeemed through transformation, was the vehicle through which Boyd could explore ideas of masculine power and inheritance.

Final weeks to visit Man on Fire: Visions of Nebuchadnezzar, bringing Arthur Boyd’s iconic 1960s series into dialogue with a major new commission by contemporary artist Shaun Gladwell.

Man on Fire stages a timely and resonant catharsis, reflecting on the ways in which masculine power is performed, on human relationships to the natural environment, and on the dark shadows of conflict and empire-building. Yet it also offers hope, proposing that through the embrace of a shared vulnerability, there is potential for change.
