POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Dorothy Dwyer Silversmith’s Studio @bundanon__ is a haven & national treasure for Australian jewellerists. For two weeks I will commune in the presence of Dorothy via her tools, equipment & library. Already found my fav hammers, books (that offer sage advice on deployment of asbestos powder) & benches with the marks of Ms Dwyer & other past artists in residence. As I work late into day, the kockaburras last call at dusk is my cue to clean up & exit. The full moon/volle maan illuminates my path back to the other studio to burn more midnight oil. As Melbs/Naarm is in the grips of @radiantpavilion, I have the FOMOs. I believe the jewellery gods & goddess’s placed me here on the land of the Dharawal and Dhurga language groups, by the Bangli/Shoalhaven River, with intent. The trials & tribulations of reawakening my mad soldering skillz are my mission & torment. Dorothy must be watching on, eye rolling! Thanks to JMGA- NSW for the Jewellery and Metalsmith Award which provides essential support at a pivotal point of creativity vs neoliberal reality q#bundanon #bundanonreaidency #fluxnightmares #solderingbattles pickletime

Oh @genevieve_echo_ this makes my heart so happy! Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a beautiful and thoughtful review.

Making women feel beautiful whilst still feeling completely like themselves is at the very heart of what I do, so reading this means the absolute world to me.

And just as importantly, I want the wedding morning to feel like part of the celebration, not just the preparation! Being welcomed into those precious hours with you, your gorgeous bride tribe and both mums was such a privilege.

Thank you for trusting me with your beautiful faces and for allowing me to be a little part of such a special day. I’m sending you the biggest hug and wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter and magic.

With loads of love,
M x

A new dawn, a new day ... Reflections over Bundanon - Shoalhaven River - Live Painting.

@gaia.starace and I live painted our two 1800mm x 1200mm original artworks in just 45 minutes in front of a crowd of over 100 industry guests to the enigmatic sounds of Sydney's top cellist @marleen_cellist last Thursday night at the Satara showroom in Alexandria.

Thanks to our art patron @sataraliving for giving us this opportunity and to @deborahdejong01 for making the event itself so memorable.

Thanks @chris_styles_design for the Shoalhaven mood board and @bundanon__ as my muse - a remarkable place where art and nature meet. "At daybreak the water’s edge would draw the line Arthur Boyd drew between two worlds " – Darleen Bungey in Arthur Boyd: A Life

The 41 artworks by @gaia.starace and @catherinewhitting are on display and available for purchase at SATARA Alexandria Monday - Friday by appointment until Nov 22. Pm us or SATARA Sydney for an appointment.

Thanks to @reseneaustralia for the watery wood stains and to @the_artscene for the most brilliant lime green chalk pastels, willow charcoal, deep ochre red watercolour chalks and impasto medium that created chromatic bliss in the last five minutes of the performance. Ever grateful. 🙏

A specific shout out to @socialsaison for the exemplary reel and social media capturing on the night. @the.artofdesigning

Thanks to everyone who supported the 2026 @aartsnsw and @bundanon__ Artist Residency Program.

Selected artists @viccky__t , @danbartart , @inezplayford , @chris__toofar , @mindmonologues and @allisonr were supported with valuable artist residencies to develop their practice.

This accessible residency program is an unparallelled creative and career development opportunity for Deaf and Disabled writers, musicians and visual artists from NSW and ACT.

What a wonderful morning we enjoyed at Bundanon.

A huge thank you to our wonderful authors for sharing their stories and their time, to the team at @bundanontrust for hosting us in such an extraordinary setting, and to everyone who came along and filled the room with curiosity and conversation.

Keeping the magic of literature alive for our children is one of our biggest priorities. We’re proud that a rich schools program sits alongside the festival, and over the coming month it will roll out to schools across the region, putting authors and stories in front of the next generation of readers and writers.

See you in Berry, 6–8 November.

Sena Park is a Korean born artist, whose practice treats the space around a painting, as an extension of the canvas. For the McCahon House x Bundanon Residency Exchange, she travelled from Paihia to the bush and river property in New South Wales once home to painter Arthur Boyd.

Park arrived with a plan seeded eight years earlier, during a residency in Mongolia that first pulled her out of the gallery and into open land. Bundanon, she hoped, would let her pick that thread back up: to move from building artificial versions of nature indoors to intervening directly onto the natural landscape.

What she found instead was a residency that circled back on her own thinking. It’s a story of a residency that didn’t go to plan and became more valuable for it.

This exchage is supported by Brigit and David Kirk and McCahon House Tomorrow Group, continuing a growing partnership between Aotearioa and Australia.

A gorgeous day encouraging kids to be creative @berrywritersfestival @bundanontrust for storytime followed by an art workshop. Children created their own Bowerbird Blues sgraffito artworks filled with intricate patterns and added collage to create bowers with blue treasures. They are stunning! We also had time to craft Wolf Baby from my upcoming picture book, decorate a basket and tuck him in with a little red blankie. Adorable! I will share my template soon in case anyone wants to craft their own. Enormous thanks to Keely, Tori, Renae and team for organising a beautiful creative day to celebrate art and reading in a fabulous setting. Thank you, Ainslie for your help too. And author Kate Simpson for a catchup walk. It was a Berry fun day. I LOVED IT.
