I’ve been following the Eurovision Song Contest since 2004. It has always brought me positive and joyful emotions. That’s why I’ve always dreamed of being a part of it. From the moment I first heard about this project, being involved in it became my biggest wish.

The stars aligned for me at the right time and place, and I crossed paths with some amazing people. I met three wonderful individuals – M, R, and N (I prefer not to write their full names). They were incredibly sweet and did everything they could to make me feel comfortable throughout the process. Truly humble and loving souls. I sincerely hope our paths cross again someday.

And of course, my dear family and friends, who from the very moment I said “there’s something like this,” told me I was going to be “an amazing part of it.” Being part of this with you all meant the world to me. Together, we created a memory that will last forever. We had the chance to show the world a party we created in our own home.

Turkey last participated in Eurovision in 2012. But there is a wonderful community in Turkey eagerly waiting for our return to the contest. Being there as a kind of representative for these people, reflecting their feelings, was incredibly valuable to me. And from the dozens of messages I’ve received, I truly feel like I did something right.

I could write so much more — I’m feeling emotional. But to keep it short: thank you all, so very much. Last night was one of the absolute best nights of my life.

At Eurovision, we’ll always continue to celebrate diversity, music, dance — not with division, but with joy and love!

🇬🇧: Czechia has withdrawn from Eurovision 2027, exactly 20 years after their debut!

I don’t know if they’re frustrated with the voting, tired of their efforts going unrecognized, or if it’s simply down to financial reasons. But I’m going to miss Czechia. 🥲

Türkiye 2013’ten beri Eurovision’a katılmıyor. Bu yüzden ülkedeki yerleşik algı globalde Eurovision’un popülaritesini çoktan yitirdiği yönünde.

Fakat biz yarışmadan çekildikten sonra Avustralya Eurovision’a dahil oldu, Amerika versiyonu American Song Contest yapıldı, Kanada yarışmaya dahil oldu derken şimdi Eurovision dünyasında yeni bir oyuncu daha var: Eurovision Song Contest Asia! 🌏

2008’in favori senem olması dışında Eurovision tarihinde de çok özel bir yeri var. Çift yarı final sistemine geçilmesi, Yugoslavya sonrası bağımsız bir Balkan devletinin ilk kez yarışmaya ev sahipliği yapması, internetin Eurovision’u değiştirmeye başlaması ve tüm bunların Avrupa’nın yeniden şekillendiği bir döneme denk gelmesi…

Bir de Türkçe bir rock şarkısıyla Türkiye’yi 7. sıraya taşıyan Mor ve Ötesi ve Deli var. 🖤

Apart from being my all-time favourite Eurovision year, 2008 also holds a very special place in the contest’s history. It was the year Eurovision introduced two semi-finals, an independent Balkan country hosted the contest for the first time after the breakup of Yugoslavia, and the internet was starting to change the way we experienced Eurovision — all while Europe itself was going through major changes…

And then there was Mor ve Ötesi and Deli, taking Türkiye to 7th place with a rock song entirely in Turkish. 🖤
