Great to meet @raymondochai so far away from our last meeting @rambertdance when I still performed and @raymondochai was teaching.
Now I see him during my breakfast, surprise surprise!

Last night we saw the performance of ‘Arrival’, the latest collaboration between choreographer @burlovdance, composer @jcwrightmusic and artist @tribambuka created in response to our current exhibition ‘Palimpsest’. The night was accompanied by live video magic from Bartosz of the Screaming Films. Thank you to everyone who joined us for such an exciting evening!

Arrival

This live, site-specific performance unfolds within the gallery, weaving movement, sound, and projection into a dialogue with the works on display. Engaging with the show’s themes of absence and presence, erasure and return, it traces the shifting layers of memory, identity, and time.

Accompanied by Wright’s immersive soundscape and Tribambuka’s video scenography, the piece reflects on what remains after meaning fades - and what insists on returning.

Amy Degaetano
Nicolas Plaza
Laura D’Italia
Laurentiu Fenes

Almost a year since Remember Me was born. It started with choreographer @burlovdance ‘s vision, and grew through collaboration with an artist @tribambuka sound artist @jcwrightmusic
Performed by the @cityacademy_dance Professional Ballet Course students at @sadlers_wells main stage in November 2024.

We wanted to touch on that strange tension between being really insignificant in the larger scale of things and yet believing we’re grand, on memory, mortality, and the traces we leave behind.
Tribambuka’s video scenography was a moving projection that shifted and breathed with the dancers. Julian’s narration and soundscape gave it another layer — deep, haunting, almost shamanic.

And now the project will be shown at @citylitarts animation showcase, which we’re really exited about.

See the full project at tribambuka.art (join the newsletter too - there might be something brewing again) 🙂🙃🙂
