An amazing introduction to riding in Chile! Lift access pow riding, splitboarding and sled bumps brought us to awesome snow in some amazing terrain!! Thanks to @chile.guide for the great guiding and providing the stoke!!! @cutmanmd and I will be forever grateful! We’ll be back in a few weeks to shred some volcanoes!

Damian had his first laps on Teton Pass today. I truly appreciate that even though he possesses the skills to hike farther and ride more consequential terrain, he’s happy to just have fun and ride good powder! It’s the greatest feeling to share a love of the mountains and snowboarding with my little buddy!

Proud to be part of the @pulselineadventure team that made this season’s @naturalselectionski event a go! Check it out today. It was wild ride and we were thrown some serious curve balls. Thanks to an amazing crew of athletes, guides, media, ground crew and Heli pilots. It came down to the wire and we pulled off an awesome event!!

Our hearts go out the Martin family. Although I didn’t hang out a lot with Max, we had a very friendly relationship. The same goes for his brother. Max’s positive energy was infectious. He always made time to stop and talk when we saw one another. He had a great sense of the mountains and truly enjoyed playing and working in them. He was one of the best strength coaches I have ever worked with. Max was an amazing skier! The Martin family is one of high stoke and love. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Thank you to the @jacksonholeskipatrol, the JHMR Alpine Guides, Teton County Sheriff’s office and so many more for assisting to help formulate a rescue plan.

A client/friend called me to ask how I was doing. He asked me how we cope with the fact, that as a mountain community, we continue to lose close friends and colleagues to accidents in the mountains. The only answer I could give is that it happens way too much.

Max’s accident instantly reminded me of another tragic occurrence I faced when a client I was guiding on the Grand Teton fell into a hole in the snow with water running into it. It was an extremely sad outcome that day also. Truthfully, there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about it. Unfortunately, now there are 2 episodes that will be burned into my memory bank.

Our world seems to falling apart currently. Give each other a hug and don’t be afraid to say I love you.

A round about shout out to my friends at @sparkrandd . I’ve been using their bindings and equipment since they started producing Splitboard equipment. I like them best because they make lightweight, easy to use, reliable gear. As a company, Spark R&D is truly committed to Splitboarding. Their manufacturing is awesome, the warranty department is fantastic and they truly listen to fellow riders and take whatever recommendations we give them to heart. Thanks for keeping it real!
