CHILE, VOLCANOES EXPERIENCE

The volcanoes land in Araucanía has been our home for the past week. We climbed Tolhuaca, Lonquimay, Llaima, and made a light approach to Sierra Nevada.

More important than any summit has been the mystique created by such a unique and special group of people — a group that has touched my heart deeply because at the end of the day, what we carry with us is not just the experience, but the people we shared it with.

Wrapping up another Alaska heli ski season. Looking back on a season full of challenges and yet so many successes. Despite one of the most faceted and low snowpacks I have ever seen in the Chugach, we diligently and skillfully navigated our way through the range and made a whole season successful! Powder snow more often than not, eventually big lines, and a safe and fun season. This year was also notable because I took my daughters heli skiing for the first time! What a trip. We named their first run ‘Creating a Monster’, that’s an understatement, and such and honor and privilege to guide my daughters with my husband as my second guide and @kauaisugarloafpineapple as witness to it all. ❄️ Alaska—the journey of a lifetime—is now a reality. A dream has come true. The luck we’ve had has been unbelievable: not a single day of bad weather. For 17 days straight, we had full sun, almost no clouds—something truly rare in a place known for its harsh conditions.
🥶 The cold was extreme—down to -28°C. Incredible. The snow stayed perfectly powdery even under the sun, creating unreal riding conditions day after day.
🚁 Heli-skiing was an extraordinary experience, a first for all of us. Choosing our lines straight from the helicopter window. Spines, steep faces—lines that once felt unimaginable suddenly became reality.
🌍 Just saying the name—Alaska—feels intimidating. The wild land, the extreme land, the place you’ve always dreamed of… and now you’re finally here. It was an honor to share this journey with longtime friends Vaquilla, Giacomo, new friends @mauri_marass @_streiml @ale.trapassi, and amazing companions from Jones Snowboard Italy @simone_bolgiani & @kamigazza

❄️ Alaska—il viaggio di una vita—è ora una realtà. Un sogno si è avverato. La fortuna che abbiamo avuto è stata incredibile: non abbiamo mai avuto un giorno di brutto tempo. Per 17 giorni, sempre sole pieno, quasi senza nuvole—qualcosa di rarissimo in un luogo famoso per il suo clima difficile.
🥶 Il freddo è stato estremo—fino a -28°C. Incredibile. La neve restava perfettamente polverosa anche sotto il sole, regalando condizioni surreali ogni giorno.
🚁 L’eliski è stata un’esperienza straordinaria, una prima volta per tutti noi. Scegliere le linee direttamente dal finestrino dell’elicottero. Spine, pareti ripide—linee che sembravano impossibili sono diventate realtà.
🌍 Solo pronunciare il nome—Alaska—fa quasi paura. La terra selvaggia, la terra estrema, quella che hai sempre sognato… e ora sei finalmente qui. È stato un onore condividere questo viaggio con amici storici Vaquilla, Giacomo, nuovi amici @mauri_marassi @streim @trapassi.alessandro e compagni di tante avventure di Jones Snowboard Italy Bolgi e Gazza
