I’ve been wracking my brain, trying to figure out how to express everything that PRINTELLIGENCE and working on the MAPC Board for the last two years has meant to me. Instead, I’m just gonna show you an assortment of photos and hopefully you understand how incredible this was.

My heart is so full, my body is so sore, and it was the most incredible and bittersweet ending. To my fellow 2024-2026 board members, we are bonded for life. To Lauren and Lesley, our fearless leaders that made everything possible, I hope you are so proud seeing the fruits of your labor pan out in the largest (literally) and most spectacular MAPC we have ever seen!

MAPC really does feel like the best family reunion. To everyone new that I met, to everyone who I saw again, I can’t wait to see you all in Milwaukee!!!

Part of the board that made it all happen! Workhorses, the best collaborators, the dream team!

Leslie and Lauren, our fearless leaders from LSU who made this entire thing possible!!! Thank them every time you see them for the foreseeable future because they deserve to know how amazing PRINTELLIGENCE was!

If you saw me this weekend and I wasn’t running around, I was probably looking something like this.

Capturing the magic of Printmakers of Wrestling! 🤼

Lithotine, the BEST mascot!

Right after the Board Meeting! You can see how happy we all were after telling you about the immense success stories from the last two years.

No words needed here.

Next time I will get in the inflatable ring, but until then I am honored to have held a belt!

M A P C 🙌

Jenny Schmid’s amazing Outstanding Printmaker lecture was one for the books.

The emotional support kitten we all needed this weekend.

Everybody got their flowers!

Me yapping about color? It’s more likely than you think!

Two of the exchanges I was in side by side. It’s reeeeeally hard to tell which ones are mine 👀

What do you give to the woman who gave her heart to space?

Not a bad meal was had in Baton Rouge!

Walking to Day 1 and stopping to say hi to Mike!

RICKI! Our mascots incredible mother.

The best way to celebrate every closing reception of MAPC is the swings. Petition to add swings as a mandatory inclusion in taken in LSU School of Art by @burtnaay

The MAPC Board is so excited to present the Junk Drawer Exchange Portfolio!

A “junk drawer” is a designated, often chaotic household drawer used for storing miscellaneous yet frequently needed items. This finite space, filled with potential and utility, becomes a collection of evocative objects we are reminded of when searching for something specific. A chorus, a collection, a pile of things that somehow belong together.

This portfolio is a Junk Drawer: a collection representing the brilliant potential within the
MAPC Board, where individual roles come together to create a sense of utility, collaboration, and home. Over the past two years, these artists, educators, and coordinators have worked closely alongside one another, relying on each other when
called upon. This portfolio reveals their communal junk drawer—the knowledge, experiences, and contributions they have gathered and shared in support of one another’s success. They are the shiny pennies, paperclips, and loose batteries that find
a home among the chaos.

Don’t miss your chance to take home a print, book, or portfolio - the Silent Auction is open now and closes on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Central Time! Auction proceeds benefit MAPC members through programs like Grants and Member Support. If you’re joining us at the conference, you can see the prints in person in the Barnes Ogden Foundations Room, or view and bid online. Why aren’t we just making a map, why are we asking everyone to submit to the Printmaking Map? Hopefully this video will help explain why! We are SO excited to continue this initiative!

MAPC is building the Printmaking MAP(C), a growing resource highlighting universities, printshops, suppliers, and other printmaking organizations to strengthen connections and improve accessibility across our community. If you’d like your organization included, complete the submission form on our website with your organization’s name, address, applicable categories, a brief description of your mission or programming, and any website or social media links. The DEIA and Membership Committees are reviewing submissions throughout the summer before adding them to the map, with ongoing updates to keep this community resource growing! by @burtnaay

Send this to your favorite Printshops, Galleries, Residency Centers and more! Let’s work together to make the most comprehensive Printmaking MAP(C)!

MAPC invites the printmaking community to help us put the MAP in MAPC!
In an effort to connect, support, and promote, MAPC is collecting information for the Printmaking MAP(C), featuring Universities, Printshops, Supply Stores & more. Whether you are looking for specific programing, interested in investigating local shops or supplier options, or simply curious to explore the vast network of printmaking, this map is intended to act as an accessibility and community building tool for those dedicated to all things print.
If you are interested in contributing, please fill out the form (see QR code above) to request your organization be added to the MAP(C). The DEIA and Membership Committees will be reviewing and uploading requests every two weeks over Summer 2026, with continual updates every quarter thereafter. by @burtnaay

My art might not look “explicitly” queer, but my work is autobiographical. You can’t separate the prints that I make from my lived experience, and that is of a queer neurodivergent person. Happy Pride bbs. My art gets progressively brighter as the times get darker. Keep being a light in the dark. by @burtnaay

This Print was made after the reversal of Roe in 2022. It’s relevant again today as SCOTUS kills the Voting Rights Act as we know it. by @burtnaay

I had the absolute privilege of being the visiting artist this past week at @bgsu_printmaking. HUGE thanks to @bgsuprintsociety for bringing going me out! I had such an incredible time working, laughing and meeting with all of the BG printmakers. We busted out about 40 half sheet Monoprints using hand mixed ink from neon pigments. None of this would have been possible without everyone being so generous with their time (and strength- shoutout to my mullers!) 💪 @rossmazzupappa and @christinahumble were such amazing hosts, if you ever have the chance to make your way out to Bowling Green DO IT. I am so honored and humbled after this experience. Printmakers make the best community and I am so lucky to be a part of yours! taken in Bowling Green State University by @burtnaay
