The Texas Liberty Bell Replica has a new temporary home at the James A. Baker, III Pavilion, located at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Center.Presented to @TAMU on July 5, 1950, the bell was part of a national effort to inspire patriotism and civic participation. Unlike most states, which placed their Liberty Bell replicas in capitol buildings, Texas presented its bell to Texas A&M in recognition of the university’s extraordinary military service and sacrifice in World Wars I and II.Long displayed in the rotunda of the Academic Building, the bell has been temporarily relocated during exterior renovations to ensure its preservation while remaining on public display during the nation’s semiquincentennial and Texas A&M’s sesquicentennial celebrations. by @bushfdn
