Lots of people telling me to STOP because I’m a single mother and I’m doing my daughter a disservice.

The prompt for my sculpture class was to make a planar sculpture of an identifiable thing. I picked a pencil ✏️. The critique went really well. by @bustit200sqft

Looking through my sewing machine today at the books on my desk gave me a deep introspective thought today. I legit am an autodidact who enjoys self paced learning and picking the topics that interest ME.

I picked up the Quilting Arts magazine on the second slide inside a second hand Art Supply store because it had a up close and detailed look at a Crazy Quilt. I’ve had a DEEEEEEPPPPP fascination with Crazy Quilts for a VERY long time. I wish I could give a numbered amount of time but I can’t because I don’t remember when I caught the Crazy Quilts Bug. I just know it deeply reminds me of collage work but with Fabrics! 🥰😍

Anywho I open this magazine and see that someone has written a book on the subject of Crazy Quilt back in 1984 after 2 years of prep work for the book. Now guess what. This book only ran 7,500 copies to print! lol so folks was paying over $200 for it back in the early 2000’s on eBay.

Guess who paid $8 plus shipping and found it on Etsy? ME! This is legit my hologram Pokémon card or whatever!

Last two slides my attempt yesterday and today to do my own crazy quilt. I’m doing 6x6in squares. 5x5 rows for a total of 25 squares. I’m saving the embroidery for last because I’ve yet to learn it but will be working on that next up.

First book in my Uprooting Capitalism study group finally finished.
I’m rating this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

It has a wealth of information on the topic of capitalism but it was just a bit too lethargic of a read on the topic for me personally. I am hoping the next book in the class wakes me up a bit more! by @bustit200sqft

This cookie decorating class I attended yesterday afternoon 👩🏽‍🍳 💋👌🏾!

I enjoy everything about exploring making art in different mediums but it REALLY dawned on me yesterday I can eat my art.

As a foodie who loves art this is a two for one deal!

I’ll be getting into cookie decorating VERY VERY SOON lol 😂 by @bustit200sqft

I tried my best to stay off this app for the month of February and just exist in reality with self and others near me.

What I found….it’s tough but it can be done. I think I enjoy getting on here and seeing everyone’s creativity honestly. It’s like a giant art class on here to me!

Finding community IRL is difficult as a mother. I’ve honestly been struggling so much with holding adult conversations because I’m just honestly not in close proximity to many [adults] for long periods of time.

These photos are just a dump of inspiration mixed in with some ideas I have in mind for future projects and a collage I create a few years back. by @bustit200sqft

I bought this book Discovering The Inner Mother by @themotherwound exactly 4 years ago & today I finally finished reading its entirety.

Life had just finished life’n TF out of me a few months earlier and when I saw this book and read it’s title my body practically levitated in the Barnes & Nobles to get to it.

I’ll be re-reading with a commitment to finish in less time 😅. I’ll keep better organized notes also.

This book is a must read for anyone who’s mother has been affected by the Patriarchy and exposed you to some of those symptoms in anyway as a child and even adult growing up. by @bustit200sqft

Taught myself how to crochet in a little under 72 hrs I think. 🥹😅

Now if only math was this quick to get 😂

Anywho I’m posting a glimpse into what I made or shall I say folded it up into to take the shape of a object mock-up prototype.

Any who was interesting and indeed yoga but with yarn. Look forward to doing more.
