Leo Thomas Fobare arrived 7/11 at 5:26 pm
6 pounds, 7 ounces | 21 inches

The name Leo symbolizes strength and courage. Two gifts my son has given me on this journey already. Thomas, representing faith and trust in something bigger than ourselves. A reminder that in life there are many things we may not understand, but continue to believe that God has plan that is uniquely our own.

Leo is also a name woven throughout my family, connecting generations — my grandfather, Leo Francis; my mother, Donna Lee; and me, Elizabeth Leanne, named after my sisters.

Leo, my son, I have waited a lifetime for you. You are loved beyond words. I cannot wait to share the world with you ♥️ by @busymisslizzy

One Year of Motherhood. One Year of Becoming. A Lifetime to Go.

Twelve months have gone by since my son entered this world. I’ve thought about that day, those few days, often and I hope I never forget.

Never forget the struggle, the tears, the pain. Never forget the strength, the joy, the becoming.
And, most powerfully, never forget the women.

The women who gave me the strength to carry through. Who rubbed my back, held my hand, quite literally spun me down and lifted me up. Who reminded me my son would be here so soon. Who told me how strong I was. In every moment of doubt, they gave me confidence. They advocated for me. They made me feel safe. They helped me bring my son into this world exactly how I wanted to. Into a space filled with love.

To all the women who came before me and all the women who will come after me, I am transformed forever more by the miracles we share with this world. By what we are capable of together, in sisterhood and motherhood.

You are not alone.

I listened to Althea about 1 million times while I was pregnant. I couldn’t get enough of it.

What I love about Grateful Dead music is hearing the same song I’ve heard many times before, but in a new way that makes me fall in love with it as if it’s the first time.

I’m grateful to have gotten to see Bobby one last time, six months pregnant, with the best of friends. It was exactly what I needed, when I needed it.
