POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My brain is always cooking up new ideas (even when I should probably just take a nap), but this time it wasn’t me, it was Bodine who came to me with this vision. And I fell in love with it instantly.

Just the two of us: Bodine did the styling, concept, art direction, and makeup. We built a moodboard together, and I handled the set styling and “how do we make this happen” part… plus all the other technical headaches 😅

We were aiming for that Japanese fast-food vendor vibe - neon lights, LED glow, moody streets. Not food focused, but food had to be part of the story.

Now for the part you don’t see right away:
Bodine suffers from Trigeminal Neuralgia, a rare chronic pain condition that causes intense, stabbing pain in the face. Like, truly unbearable pain.
During the shoot she had to pause often, lay down, take moments to breathe through it. One of the portraits we took, the very first photo, shows that raw moment,it’s the first time I’ve ever captured her like this, and it really stayed with me.

Proud of what we made. And yes, already dreaming up the next one.

“Held in the hands”

The arm resembles a tree, the croissant a bird’s nest.
There’s something about that safety, from our first breath held in hands. All through life we stay in search for that same connection and care; all to find that maybe the only form that resembles a similar state is when by resting in the ground.

A broken croissant still makes a decent nest. Sometimes that’s how it works, we create safety from whatever we have, finding shelter in unexpected places.

The cycle of being held, holding others, then letting go.

Recipe videography for @tryspicebombs
Butter Chicken Bomb - extremely delicious 🤤

On another note:
Over the past year I’ve seen a growing demand for food videography alongside photography. The requests kept coming, so I decided to invest in the right gear, a professional studio kitchen, and the setup needed to deliver it at a higher level.

This was the first recipe videography we did in my new studio in Amsterdam, and I absolutely love the look and feel. 🫶🏼
