A morning with the Lake Oroville Area Garden Club 🌱

Last week we got to talk soil with them: compost, worm castings, and the living biology that carries a garden through a NorCal summer.

Thank you for having us, @loagc_1976. It's always a good day when a room full of growers wants to talk dirt.

2552 Clark Rd, Oroville. Come find us anytime.

Summer heat melts most raised beds by August.

NorCal summers are hard on soil. 🌱 Standard bagged mixes dry out fast, compact under heat, and stop feeding your plants right when they need it most. By mid-July you're watering daily and still watching things struggle.

The fix is organic matter, real compost and worm castings that hold moisture, feed the biology, and keep roots working through August. That's what's in our NorCal Growers Blend. Local inputs, built for this climate.

Garden Blend doing what it does best 🌱

A friend from the Butte County Fire Safe Council shared these photos with us - chicks in the garden and lavender grown in our Garden Blend soil.

We love seeing our soil out in the world doing its job: supporting healthy roots, happy plants, and beautiful little moments like this.

It’s always the best part of the job seeing what people grow with our soil.

Bring one of our soil blends home to your garden, available at Butte Valley Supply / Earthworm Soil Factory🪴
