A culturally energising periods is underway – @l_d_f_official , @londonfashionweek , @friezeofficial Sculpture transforming Regent’s Park. And on the horizon, @frieze.london , @padesignart and @BFI London Film Festival promising an extraordinary few weeks spanning the arts.

The inaugural Brue Festival ventured into politics, the environment, and future gazing: from Museums through to AI. A feast (literally) - against the rural backdrop of Hauser & Wirth Somerset.

It’s much more than seeing what’s new. It’s a form of intel gathering: getting out from behind the desk, experiencing ideas in three dimensions and looking for the signals that tell us where culture - and consumer desire - might be heading next.

Highlights include:

@shoreditchdesignweek – @hi_houseoficons @materialmatters.design ingenuity & beauty at every turn.

Soho as a new, official design district at @ldf. Luminaries including Yasmin Henry Jones, Brodie Neill, Ella Doran, Cassie Quinn and Bela Gonshorovitz debated affordability, community and retaining Soho’s quirky eccentricity.

Gus Casely Hayford of @vam_east passionately made the case for today’s Museum - preserving cultural heritage + platforms for the new, never benign (more eloquently than George Osbourne).

MacQueen returned to @LFW, Christopher Kane had an exceptional debut as Creative Director of Mulberry and Burberry showed a collection at a time when the house has returned to the black with CEO Joshua Schulman and CD Daniel Lee at the helm.

Across design, fashion and art, some fascinating threads are emerging.

But culture cannot simply be borrowed at the point of communication. It has to be understood - and participated in with credibility.

That’s central to what we mean at Button Collective by Cultural Agency: understanding the ideas, movements and creative communities shaping people’s tastes and behaviours, and helping brands identify where they can contribute something meaningful.

It’s time to get out, look harder, listen carefully and join some dots.

The 12th annual London Design Festival is open! Running until 20th September, recommend taking a look at the beautifully conceived and delivered Craft x Tech Tokai Project by @tngnt.uk and its founder @hdk.yoshimoto, with curatorial direction by @mcdidero

Local Japanese craftspeople from the Tokai region of Japan have been paired with international designers and artists – including @bethanlaurawood @atangtshikare @lanzavecchiawai @philippemalouin and @eugene_studio_official with spectacular and exquisite outcomes.

Not only are the objets aesthetically covetable in how they converge traditional craft techniques, contemporary practices and artist makers, the showcase also dissects the fascinating processes involved.

Loved it – and also so great to hear Hideki Yoshimoto and @fralanzavecchia speak at the Global Design Form on ‘Activating Objects’ - on how to balance preservation and accessibility in opening up the world of craft to all, in sharing the backstories and transmitting ideas.

Socially, culturally and materially important, one of the many reasons Button Collective so enjoyed working with the @craftscouncil and Collect Art Fair for seven years was to play a small part in driving conversations around the hand, head and heart (not to mention beauty) inherent to craftsmanship at the highest level – and to inspire all to interact, patronise and appreciate how the processes involved are not only part of culture and humanity but how it also drives innovation.

No ‘back to school’ vibes here - we are still on a high following sunshine and holidays in August. Where to begin on highlights?!

1. The high octane fun of Rivals and the beauty of top-flight polo @hurlinghampoloassociation International Day at @guardspoloclub continued to be picked up by press, including with @hellomag .🐎

2. We loved the musings of Johnathan Ray with guests, including @rhsutherlandon on the joys of port - including served chilled - for the @spectator1882 podcast. New @cockburns_port Vat & Barrel Tawny was praised for its modern, easy-drinking take on this fortified wine, steeped in @symingtonfamilyestates know how.🎙️🍷

3. What a privilege to see Mark Pardoe MW of @hambledonwineestate & @berrybrosrudd walk through a series of sparkling releases with @knackeredmother. 🥂🍾

4. @cocktail.carmen’s lip-smackingly refreshing ‘Port Bramble’, using Cockburn’s Vat & Barrel, was deemed the ‘serve of the season’ by @bouncemaguk.🍹

5. Super lucky to experience a private tour of the recently transformed Casa Italia - the new Chancery of the @italy.in.uk - with fabulous commissions and artworks overseen by tastemaker @nickvinson . 🇮🇹

6. @countrylivinguk named @hambledonwineestate Hampshire’s premier vineyard destination, celebrating its storied history and estate dining. 🍇

7. So good she visited twice! Lovely, talented @portiaportiaaaa visited local @hambledonwineestate, including working her cocktail magic with Classic Cuvée (which was served up at her wedding!) 🍾🌿

8. Soaking up Frida and Tracey at @tate - and excited to see in what direction new Director Jessica Morgan takes this treasured institution next year.

9. @susieandpeter and @symsymo chatted Britain’s best vineyard destinations at (we are a little biased) the VERY best in @hambledonwineestate . 🎙️🍷 by @buttonprcollective

What a special place - loved the food, wine list, attentive team at Parnham Restaurant and grounds. Cannot wait to see how arts & craft patrons James and Sophie Perkins transform the fire-damaged main house and infuse their distinctive (sometimes fantastically bonkers) aesthetic further, throughout the estate.

The uber-talented and celebrated furniture designer and artist maker John Makepeace OBE once owned the property and founded the School of Craftsmen in Wood at the site. ❤️

London’s Grosvenor Square has reopened! First commissioned in the 1720s, this latest makeover took 8 years.

The climate-first transformation comprises 150,000 new plants & bulbs, 44 new trees, and a landscape engineered to absorb over 1 million litres of stormwater.

Perfect for meeting walkabouts and shopping pauses (there’s a cafe), with the imperious golden eagle of The Chancery Rosewood keeping watch.

The ‘Rivals’ Effect’ is truly a cultural movement – we are having so much fun riding the crest of this wave on behalf of our client, the @hurlinghampoloassociation , thanks to the beautiful sport featuring in the @disneyplusuk TV series.

It’s also bittersweet as we race towards the HPA International Day on Saturday 25th July – last year Dame Jilly Cooper presented the Coronation Cup to the winning England team.

Hospitality sold out a while ago, but if you move quickly you may be lucky and get tickets from @guardspoloclub It’s an AMAZING day out!

We love the playful glamour of 80s Rivals and how it has propelled the game into the spotlight but it has also provided a springboard to excite and educate on the sport today, and in real life – from giving polo a go as some game-on media, such as @jacksayspurple of @telegraph have done under the expert guidance of coach @ebesievwright at @coworthpark - to also sharing the skill, dedication and graft required to play internationally at the highest level.

England captain @tomasberesford is the consummate professional to work with – and we’re also loving the fact that the women’s world no.1, in 24 year old @millyhine hails from this country – not Argentina!

Playing polo at an amateur level will give you one of the very best mental and physical workouts there is. Watching is just breathtaking – and you can often watch for free at one of the 70 outdoor clubs there are across the country – take a picnic.

Also take a look at the HPA website for details on watching, playing and THE international gold standard in horse welfare.

June was hot – in every way!

Our highlights:

1-2. A trip with @symingtonfamilyestates – @altanodouro & @cockburns_port took us and a fab media group to Porto for @primaverasound_porto – tastings, dining & dancing to the incredible @gorillaz – a treat to create stories in this stunning city 🎉
3. The new Frank Gehry exhibition @fundacao_serralves!
4. Inspired by Rivals, a fun duo from @telegraph & @city_am had a special polo lesson with coach Ebe Sievwright & England captain @tomasberesford. The polo season peaks with @hurlinghampoloassociation’s International Day at Guards on 25.07 – Tommy will lead England vs Uruguay for the Coronation Cup! Join us! 🐎
5. @knackeredmother and @doesmybumlook40 also headed to Porto’s biggest street party, the São João festival – @cockburns_port Porto Tonicos, incredible wines, fireworks & more! 🎆
6. WineTime with @cockburns_port 10YO Tawny – served over ice as the ideal aperitif, or over ice cream for a fresh take on the Italian classic, affogato 🍨
7. English Wine Week! @robbuckhaven named @hambledonwineestate’s Classic Cuvée for @metro.co.uk a top English wine to take to a party – “think biting into a Granny Smith apple fresh from the tree” 🍾
8. @matriarca.porto welcomed @unicorn_trails for a mouth-watering meal – for everyone’s dining wish list 🇵🇹
9. Do as @joelhart suggests and embrace the Hugo Spritz craze with @hambledonwineestate Classic Cuvée – it “cuts through the elderflower’s sweetness” perfectly. We’ll drink to that 🥂
10. A thoughtful piece by @sauce_mag – how @symingtonfamilyestates “continue to evolve while remaining deeply connected to the region that made them” ❤️
11. @crummbs_uk recommended @hambledonwineestate as one of her favourite day trips in @goodhousekeepinguk! Fire feasts, chef collabs and more – all only 90 minutes or so outside of London – are tabled at the estate 🔥
12. @phoebeclearyrudd loving @altanodouro Rewilding – a fab BBQ wine for summer 🍷
13. Looking forward to further outings, sport and mingling over the coming weeks. Hope to see you on the 25th @guardspoloclub – a bittersweet day as we toast the late Dame Jilly Cooper, who presented the Coronation Cup last year.
