I was born on October 12, the date historically associated with Columbus Day, which probably means I was destined to embrace adventure and exploration. Columbus sailed from Spain toward the Americas; this year, I made the journey in reverse, leaving America to build a new life in Madrid - and I’m not looking back.

Starting over has meant finding my footing far from everything familiar—and trusting myself enough to keep going without knowing exactly where the journey will lead.

This particular birthday found me in my happy place, London, where my wonderful friends - in particular the goddess that is my bestie @michelamarugan and my favorite devil @osemito - took such care to make sure I was spoiled and feeling good. A beautiful reminder that even as I make a new home, there are people who make me feel at home wherever I am.

Here’s to the places I’ve yet to see, the people I’ve yet to meet, and the life I’m brave enough to imagine. 🥂

(As an aside, the first photo was taken at Bacchanalia. The literal meaning of bacchanalia: a Roman festival honoring Bacchus, god of wine and ecstasy—or any wild party. I’m sure he would have approved.)

An unforgettable day of world class polo, good company, and plenty of sunshine at the Hurlingham Polo Association International Day @hurlinghampoloassociation 🍾🤍

Set against the backdrop of @guardspoloclub , England retained the Coronation Cup with a brilliant 14-8 victory over Uruguay in a thrilling match. A privilege to watch the legendary Pelón Stirling lead the visiting team with England’s winning side putting on an exceptional display Captained by Tommy Beresford.

Of course no day of polo would be complete without a glass (or two) of @gusbourne_wine followed by @tobyandcodrinks to soothe the headache to come, alongside incredible food from @uruguaymeats and @searcysguardspoloclub

Until next year...🥂🐎

A little July photo dump… but this time it’s on TikTok. 🎥✨

We’ve finally started a joint account where we’ll be sharing the bits in between work. The weekends away, cocktails, football, train journeys, road trips, family celebrations, board game nights and everything else that makes up our life together.

This video is a look back at July, from Leith and the Gower Peninsula to a very late anniversary dinner, Papa Finanz’s 80th birthday (from afar 🥹) and a few Monopoly victories (or defeats).

If you’d like to follow along, we’d love to have you over there too.

Hopefully this is the start of plenty more adventures to share. ❤️

Port deserves so much more love.

I joined the Cockburn's Port-O Party in London inspired by Portugals summer festivals to bust some of the biggest myths about Port.

One of the highlights was trying the new Cockburn's Tawny Vat & Barrel. It's smooth, nutty packed with caramel and dried fruit.
Available in Ocado by the months end.

Tip: Its even better when served chilled 🍷.

Tawny Port is my thing but you'll have to try them to find out your style.

A confession.

Tawny Port might be one of the most underrated drinks of summer.

This 10-Year-Old Tawny from Cockburn’s is silky smooth, packed with caramelised nuts and toffee flavours, and *brilliant* served chilled.

But the real gamechanger?
Pouring it over vanilla ice cream.

What’s your favourite unexpected/summer/alltime wine-and-food combo?

Port Wine Fest was a reminder that Port is much more than just a sweet after dinner wine.

From iconic houses to producers I hadn't explored before, I tasted my way through a range of styles.
White, Tawny, ruby and aged expressions, each had its own story.

The standout for me? Kopke 30 year old White Port. Complexed elegant and packed with layers of dried fruit, nuts and spice. A wine that stops you in your tracks.

If you think Port beings and ends with Christmas then it's time to think again.

What's your favourite style of Port?
