25 months ago, Buzzin’ Baseball wasn’t even a thought… yet here we are celebrating our 2-year anniversary.

Today, it’s hard to put into words what God has done.

The players, the families, the coaches, the staff, the relationships… stops me in my tracks some days….

I never want to take for granted that I get to wake up every day and do something I truly love. It’s a gift.

To every family that has trusted us to be a small part of your athlete’s journey—thank you. Thank you for believing in us, for investing in your kids, and for allowing us the opportunity to pour into them on and off the field.

This has never just been about baseball. It’s about building relationships, developing young people, and using the game as a platform to glorify God.

Two years down. We’re just getting started.

Yesterday marked one year of Buzzin’ Baseball.

A year ago, unsure of what was next, I took a step of faith and started something I was a little uncertain on. I just knew I wanted to pour into kids, help them grow through baseball, and build something rooted in real relationships.

In year one, we trained two All-State athletes, filled every camp we ran, worked with several travel organizations, launched our Little Sluggers program, and even hosted Bible studies inside the facility.

But more than anything, we built connection, trust, and community.

This year has had a lot thrown at me with health challenges, learning curves, and uncharted waters. But through it all, God was faithful. And so many people stepped in and showed up.

I’m incredibly thankful for my wife — her support, encouragement, and organization has carried us through an awesome first year. Grateful for RJ and Dave at The Field House for believing in the vision and giving me space to grow. And for our incredible growing staff who give their best to our athletes every day.

Buzzin’ Baseball isn’t just about training athletes. It’s about investing in people. That was the goal then, and it still is today!

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this first year. Here’s to year 2! 🙏⚾️🐝

Same athlete. Two weeks apart. Two different movement patterns.

➡️RIGHT: Two weeks ago

One of the biggest mistakes we can make as hitting coaches is assuming every athlete needs to move the same way.

Recently, I’ve been diving deeper into motor preferences and how individual athletes naturally organize movement/how their brain wants them to.

This athlete is a great example.

Pictures on the right are from a swing two weeks ago, we were cueing him to use the ground. He actually became more rigid. He got stuck, lost his ability to work toward the baseball, and began pushing himself up out of the ground.

Fast forward to today (left swing images), and we’ve changed the conversation to working INTO the ground rather than using the ground.

More rhythm. More momentum. More adjustability. More freedom to rotate and deliver the barrel.

We’re seeing characteristics consistent with an aerial movement preference, but the bigger takeaway isn’t about putting an athlete into a category.

It’s about understanding how THAT athlete moves best.

The goal isn’t to make every hitter look the same. It’s to help each hitter find the most efficient version of THEIR swing.

Stop forcing positions. Start understanding movement.

Trey is an incredible athlete and needs to feel his athleticism in the box to be his best. Over-cueing a kid like him can cause him to become robotic and rigid. Fired up to see this dude continue to progress!

If you geek over this, follow my guy @propelhitting and some of his posse… blessed to have him as a buddy and learn a lot from those guys!
