🎁HELLO DELHITES - So stroked to invite you all - the lovely Book Lovers at Delhi to find Shades of Existence at @thegreatindianbooktour & @aaaiindia Book Fair held in at @lhmc.official at Delhi - between 10th - 12th May - 9 AM - 10 PM.

Want to find a little piece of Wonka-land. 🍫✨
No golden ticket. No chocolate river.
Just a rather magical door into the world of SMOOR.

We recently had an amazing Chocolate factory experience curated by Smoor.

And there we were 1st treated to some delightful curtain raisers- hot chocolate, savory, sweet & spicy chocolates, hot & cold beverages. Then we were asked to slip into some disposable surgery kind of attire complete with a white coat, mask, and head cover...& then began the journey of a humble cocoa bean — cracked, transformed, tempered, moulded and dressed up until it became the chocolate we know and shamelessly love.

Watching that transformation was almost like watching a little bit of alchemy: earthy cocoa turning into glossy couverture, pralines, cakes and melt-in-your-mouth magic.
We walked through the factory, watched the chocolatiers at work, tasted Indian cocoa and even got to play chocolatier ourselves.
For a few hours, we weren't adults worrying about calories, deadlines or tomorrow.
We were simply kids in a chocolate factory. ❤️
And unlike Charlie Bucket, we didn't need a golden ticket.

Instead we got a scrumptious lunch spread, and even walked away with goodies we made at tge factory. That’s why you hear me saying more Smoor . 🤎

BURNING VERMILLION- I had barely stepped into my 20's when I found my prince charming and was ready to get hitched. That afternoon it was by chance that I picked up the 2nd phone & overheard a conversation that I will never forget in this life.

My father was talking with my would-be father-in-law and had just asked very polietly- "What are your demands?" The question itself shocked me to the core...I could feel my ears burn...tears welled up in my eyes. I had never seen my hero so helpless. Why did he have to ask this question? I had made myself so clear- I won't marry anyone whose family demands a dowry. I considered any such demands as an insult to my family, me and the very institution of marriage. I didn't care for stupid customs then or now. Dowry was a deal breaker for me...period.

Within those brief few seconds I was both angry at my father and sad for him. Then the voice on other end boomed- "What are you saying? No, we don't want anything." In that instance I knew I'm marrying into a family where I am getting another father.

Every time I hear of a dowry death my blood boils. I am transported to that afternoon conversation between my father and father-in-law. The answer could have just as easily been different from the other side of the phone. Maybe despite my protests I would have been married. Because everytime there is a justification like perhaps in the case of Twisha Sharma or Deepika Nagar- because the proposal is so good, the boy is so great, the family is so reputed or maybe because boy & girl are seemingly in love.

Why do we not take a hint- a God sent sign-to say NO when a dowry demand comes in? Why is it so important to be married and stay married despite abuse? Isn’t life & dignity of living the most important thing? My heart goes out to the families of the girls who fall prey to Greed. Demonic greed of people who want to suck money from a girl's family and degrade this sacred institution.

I'm trying to beat emotional eating.Yes, it's a real thing. Happens to me when I'm working and stuck in my writers block. I noticed if I'm stressed, anxious, or worried comfort eating becomes normal. Having a sweet tooth I tried out this simple healthy hack to trick my tongue & automated motor response.

Healthy Water Melon Ice-cream

- 2 cups water melon
- 1 small cup Greek yogurt or plain yogurt
- Honey as per taste
- 2 small bananas
- Nuts for garnishing

Take out watermelon juice & strain the seeds. Mix the rest of ingredients ( except nuts) in a mixture. Put in small serving containers. Garnish with nuts. Refrigerate for 2 hrs. They enjoy. If you want a more creamy texture use coconut cream & Greek yogurt.

We’re taught to be the hero like Rama!- humble, always self-sacrificing. But The Asura Way argues the hero mindset in today's world has to change. Do we want to end up in forest with lost riches and power or instead create real path to power. It might not be the traditionally righteous but that doesn't make it wrong—and it shook me. The Asura Way by Anand Neelakanta is a thought provoking book. It makes you sit with some uncomfortable thoughts like - What is apt for this world ( Kali Yuga) Rama's or Ravana's energy?
