I passed my private pilot checkride! I've been dreaming of this moment for years, and so happy to have finally accomplished this after many hurdles and road blocks to overcome. This is only the beginning!!!! taken in Florence, South Carolina by @bwhaskell

Say hello to my 1981 Mooney M20J !!! A few years ago ago, the thought of being a pilot was a fantasy and the thought of owning an airplane was a pipe dream. I was a closet nerd with far more hours in Microsoft Flight Simulator than I would like to admit. Then my wife decided to buy me a real life discovery flight and kick me off my computer chair and it encouraged me to turn those dreams into goals. I wanted to buy an airplane before 40 years old, and i wanted a Mooney - its efficiency, speed, and that iconic tail. It hasn't been an easy road, having to deal with medical certification deferment for 16 months, then getting my pilot license in only 2 months, 130hours dealing with numerous rental plane issues, shopping for airplanes for 7 months and putting deposits down on 2 only to have to back out for various reason. I listened to the advice of other, more experienced pilots and remained patient - the right plane will come. And finally it has. This is a dream come true, a goal achieved, and the start of an amazing new chapter. I couldn't have gotten here without the love and support of my wife @dianaj_haskell as well as countless members of the aviation community who have been immensely helpful and generous in my pursuit of this dream. @bill4le thank you for providing such an amazing community with your discord and @bradthepilotguy for all of your generous advice. I owe you both one!
