the best part? this walk. every single time.

i may not post every painting, every process, or every project
(i promise the intent is there 😅🫣)
butttt i almost always try to get this moment.

if you’ve ever commissioned me, referred me, waited on me, (even currently still waiting on me 🙏🏽) or just trusted me with something special to you: thank you for giving my art a place in your world 🌎

this walk is always worth it. 🥹 by @by__kai

i’ve been sitting with this feeling of drifting in and out of art, what felt like being disconnected was really just me wanting to create with a deeper intention.

this didn’t come from one specific moment.
it came from finally returning home to davao after many years. starting over in new spaces, listening to the women around me, the women who raised me, the women i meet, and the culture that shaped me long before i had the words.

this piece is a glimpse into a body of work i’ve been quietly building. still a work in progress, still unnamed but —

i’m painting love letters to the filipina woman;
to our resilience, sacrifices, excellence,
but most importantly,
to forever TAKING UP MORE SPACE.

this is just the beginning 🤎🇵🇭 by @by__kai

a little behind the scenes, because the rain definitely wanted to make many appearances last week. lol
that wasn’t stopping me though. 😅

just wrapped up a quick project over at the @distilleryto for the team of @6spicerack.

shout out @jusdafaqs for the heavy assist 💛

make sure to go check them out; order some lousiana inspired street food, also enjoy everything the distillery has to offer while your there.

** The BIG EASY Event
an ode to bourbon street is going on until June 16th ✨

you really have to trust yourself.
especially when it all doesn’t look so good.
and alot of the time, most of the time -
it (really) doesn’t look so good. lol

it typically goes left, before it gets right
but no motion = no magic

come back soon k? 🤓✌🏽🤎 by @by__kai

**this actually wasn’t my original plan for this piece, but with a serious time crunch and no longer connecting to my vision — i decided to 𝙥𝙞𝙫𝙤𝙩 and just create freely (+ intentionally)

when i first started doing this art thing, this is what it was —

a visual conversation with myself.

a way to unpack my abstract mind…

thank you for following me on my journey —- 🌱
