I WROTE A BOOK!

My creative adventures have changed a lot over the years, but writing has always been a constant. And anyone who has spent countless hours at soccer practices may understand how I found the time.

This story has living with me for many years and it is FINALLY going out into the world.

HEARTS LIKE LAKES is a 70,000 word upmarket-literary novel. If you love book-club fiction and are willing to read it and give me so honest feedback. Shoot me a DM with a couple of books you have loved lately.

Reading a novel is a pretty BIG ask, everyone who finishes the book and provides feedback will get one of my Indian Quilts as my thank you!

I am looking specifically for people who do not know me intimately and can come to the story with fresh eyes and hearts.

Ok— so I wrote a book.
It’s been rolling around in my head for years, and it’s taken me 9 months to finish-
Now, onto the scary world of publishing.
Do I have any publishing peeps in my orbit?

It seems that this is really the beginning of the hardest part of writing a book.

This blue:
My youngest son is colorblind and I’m constantly trying to learn how to describe the world without relying on color. It’s becoming easier, as everything does once you practice it over + over again.
I find myself thankful, when the sky looks like this, that BLUE is one of the colors we share.

‘I opened the envelope and immediately a bunch of random things fell into my lap, flower petals, some tiny folded scrap of paper, a sticker, a couple of lose staples for absolutely no reason, maybe even a piece of trash she found somewhere and liked the color of. Claud’s letters were always like this. Chaotic but somehow strangely intentional, like little ecosystems.’

Hi Friends! Does anyone else feel like life is moving at lightning speed?

I was on the phone with a friend recently trying to make plans for Memorial Day, and she said, “I just feel like summer is almost over.”

And honestly? I felt that.

I laughed, but I truly understood what she meant. The days seem to blur together lately.

My creative energy is always evolving, and right now, I’m writing ferociously. Obsessively. The kind of writing where the world falls away a little and all you want to do is go deeper.

I’ve missed you all, my creative loves.
