[Slow Content] How To Make SelfCare A Lifestyle
As I’ve gotten older, I really see the importance of pouring into myself. If you’re in your 20’s… I’d advise you start now. But if you are in your 30’s and up, know that it’s never too late.

SelfCare is more of a lifestyle to me. It spans across my approach to work, relationships, my hair, my home, my wardrobe and MUCH more… it’s not a trend, a buzzword or a passing fancy for campaigns. It’s what helps me show up & be my best self.

Here are a few personal tips on how I’ve adapted the more aesthetic & luxe side of selfcare. This is also a perfect opportunity for you to understand what ‘gifts for her’ may work for your loved ones who need more ‘me moments’.

The beauty lessons that stay with you 🤍 AD

Growing up, I watched my mum get ready & soaked up all the little habits & the “never skip this step” rules she shared. @cultbeauty invited us to be part of their ‘Shared Rituals’ series, celebrating the beauty tips, memories, and routines passed down between generations. This felt like such a meaningful full-circle moment because even years later, we’re still learning from each other.

Seeing this in real life is just EVERYTHING!
As we have more & more conversations about representation and the need to see diverse bodiies (just being bodies) this campaign with @georgeatasda just makes my heart smile.

Your body will bend, roll, fluctuate, change in different pieces of clothing... THE LOT!! The old me would have felt conscious about these images/videos as I stuck to one standard of beauty.

The key is to accept life’s rollercoasters & focus on being a Self Carer!! That means you get to enjoy who you are in the present - while you work on wherever you want to be.
My body has survived through hell and it shows up for me everyday!! I'm so proud proud of it #pcos #pcosawareness @veritypcos

P.s. When you lie on your side…. It’s normal for the organs - that you literally need to survive - to move with your body too. I wasn’t holding my breath or sucking in my stomach and you can see how the freedom to ‘just be me’ was really sweeting me by the smile on my face! 😁

I hope when you look at this you see yourself and see that the possibilities are endless regardless of circumstances or naysayers!!

Fluffy, savoury & the perfect pairing for your favourite meal.

Just like plantain, its sister ‘fried dumplings’ work overtime.
Jamaican dumplings aren't usually cooked with butter.. But a small dash makes all the difference in how soft, fluffy and mourish they taste. They are the perfect pairing for soup, breakfast (especially a full jam-English breakfast) & dinner (my fav pairing is curry mutton/chicken).

I measure with my heart, but here’s a rough list you can use to make your own mini dumplings (8-10)
- 3 cups of flour
- 1 tbs of butter
- 1 tsp of salt
- 200ml’ish of water
- a generous glug of oil

I love cooking it in my @ourplace pan. It uses less oil, it doesn’t stick & it's so versatile on the job and in the oven.

Little habits that add up. 🍓💗

A Pilates date, a cute outfit and remembering to stay hydrated. It’s the little things that make looking after ourselves feel a little easier.

I spent the loveliest afternoon with @phizz at @levelout.london celebrating the NEW Strawberry Daily Immune+!
We were reminded that hydration isn’t just for summer! Between busy diaries, darker mornings, and everything else life throws at us, it's worth making time for the little habits that support our well-being.
One daily tablet combines electrolytes with vitamins C & D, zinc and selenium to support hydration and normal immune function. A little winter wellness win!

What are some of your feel-good tips for the winter? 💕

3 scoops of hair?… no problem!

I've added this to my showcase and in the basket on Mr Clock.

Bit I have to say… thr girls weren’t lying at all. The sew-in allegations were piling in and I’ve has so many compliments. This is such a good short-term alternative to having a sew-in hairstyle!!
