What makes a portrait today?
Presented by @bygrida at @asianow 2026, FACES explores portraiture beyond the human face. Through illuminated landscapes, virtual figures, surreal bodies, crowded cities, glitch imagery and cosmic visions, the exhibition asks how identity becomes visible through images today.

What does it mean to curate digital art when the work moves beyond the screen?

For the next ART VOICES, we welcome @bygrida (Jang Hyewon), a Paris-based curator working at the intersection of art, technology, and culture.

Guided by her “URL to IRL” approach, Grida has brought digital art into physical and institutional contexts including @saatchi_gallery, the Vatican, Villa Medici, @parisphotofair at the Grand Palais, and the World Knowledge Forum.

On September 24, we speak with Grida about curating now: how digital-native work enters cultural space, how the role of the curator is evolving, and what it means to create meaningful encounters with art across physical and digital worlds.

How far can technology take an artist's imagination?

A visionary who paints the Earth's landscapes in completely new ways using drones and light.

Starting out as a musician, Reuben Wu evolved into a visual artist and photographer.
He has collaborated with Apple, Google, and Mercedes-Benz, while his works are in the permanent collections of the Guggenheim and MoMA.

Navigating between fine art and commercial projects, and between museums and global brands, he has forged a visual language entirely his own.

In this Artist Talk, we will hear firsthand how he applies technology in his actual workflow, and how he expands a single idea into an entirely new visual experience.

There is a profound difference between simply using technology well and using it to build your own universe.

Grida (born Hyewon Jang) is a Paris-based curator and founder of byGRIDA, a nomadic gallery platform operating through art fairs, exhibitions, and institutional partnerships. Throwback memories.

Feeling incredibly grateful for the opportunity to talk about digital art in such extraordinary places. @innamodjaofficiel @marcocontisikic thank you so so much 💜

From my first visit to Casina Pio IV (Villa Pia), the Renaissance villa in Vatican City that is now home to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences 🇻🇦, to sharing my thoughts at Villa Medici on the connections between religion and digital art, along with reflections on two Medicis from different eras.
