Asia NOW presents presents K-Art Curators’ Talk: Continuities and Transformations from Korean Tradition to Digital Art, a conversation moderated by Grida (Jang Hyewon), Digital Art Curator and Founder of BYGRIDA, as part of its Conversation Platform.

For Asia NOW 2026, this panel explores the evolution of Korean visual art, from traditional practices to contemporary and digital art, in the context of growing international interest in K-Culture. Rather than treating tradition and technology as separate fields, the conversation examines how artists across generations reinterpret heritage, identity and materials through new technologies and artistic approaches.
Bringing together curatorial perspectives from Korea and France, the discussion will focus on Korean digital art and the ways in which cultural heritage continues to evolve through contemporary artistic practices.

Today I can finally share with you all that I will be participating in Paris Photo next month as part of MEMORY MATTER MEDIA exhibition with @bygrida

Korea has such a special place in my heart and it has had a strong impact in my career. 8 years ago I quit my job and a few days later I was on a plane to Seoul to begin my first solo trip. Korea welcomed me as I could have never imagined and I grew up so much in so many levels during that trip. So being invited to show my work in this wonderful curation about Korean Image is very touching and I'm really grateful for it.

It will be my first time in Paris Photo as well. So I'm really looking forward to that. If you are around, let me know.

ByGRIDA (Paris, nomadic gallery) presents Faces, featuring Reuben Wu, ALIENQUEEN, POLYGON1993, Niceaunties, Shavonne Wong, Mr Misang, POLYGON1993, ALIENQUEEN, Hemyeong for the 12th Edition of Asia NOW.

The face is our most familiar image, yet the most elusive to capture. Beyond expression lie memory, the gaze of others, and traces of history and technology. This exhibition brings together seven artists working in digital media to redefine portraiture, expanding it beyond anatomy into illuminated landscapes, virtual figures, collective memory, metropolises and the cosmos.

Gallery BYGRIDA is a nomadic curatorial platform dedicated to the digital age, founded by Paris-based independent curator Grida (Hyewon Jang). Guided by the ethos “URL to IRL,” it moves between international art fairs, ephemeral exhibitions and institutional partnerships to bring screen-based works from digital and contemporary art into physical spaces, and to secure digital art’s place in art history.

What makes a portrait today?
Presented by @bygrida at @asianow 2026, FACES explores portraiture beyond the human face. Through illuminated landscapes, virtual figures, surreal bodies, crowded cities, glitch imagery and cosmic visions, the exhibition asks how identity becomes visible through images today.
Featuring Reuben Wu @reuben , @shavonne.wong @niceaunties , @alienqueen.art , @mrmisang @polygon1993 and Hemyeong.

CURATING NOW

What does it mean to curate digital art when the work moves beyond the screen?

For the next ART VOICES, we welcome @bygrida (Jang Hyewon), a Paris-based curator working at the intersection of art, technology, and culture.

Guided by her “URL to IRL” approach, Grida has brought digital art into physical and institutional contexts including @saatchi_gallery, the Vatican, Villa Medici, @parisphotofair at the Grand Palais, and the World Knowledge Forum.

On September 24, we speak with Grida about curating now: how digital-native work enters cultural space, how the role of the curator is evolving, and what it means to create meaningful encounters with art across physical and digital worlds.

How did digital art evolve into a market of its own?

What once seemed like an experiment with new technology
has now formed an entire scene where works are created, bought, collected,
and where people gather.

How did this process begin?

And why did digital art
expand from single artworks to a market,
and ultimately into a community?

In this session,
the curators who have shaped these changes firsthand will share their stories.

Marlène Corbun, who has bridged the traditional and digital realms from White Cube and Christie's to Web3;
Eleonora Brizi, who has curated a global collector community since the early days of crypto art;
and Grida, who has been curating the global digital art scene.

Discover how digital art gained its value,
how it brought people together,
and where it is heading next,
straight from the voices on the frontline.

How far can technology take an artist's imagination?

A visionary who paints the Earth's landscapes in completely new ways using drones and light.

Starting out as a musician, Reuben Wu evolved into a visual artist and photographer.
He has collaborated with Apple, Google, and Mercedes-Benz, while his works are in the permanent collections of the Guggenheim and MoMA.

Navigating between fine art and commercial projects, and between museums and global brands, he has forged a visual language entirely his own.

In this Artist Talk, we will hear firsthand how he applies technology in his actual workflow, and how he expands a single idea into an entirely new visual experience.

There is a profound difference between simply using technology well and using it to build your own universe.

Discover that difference through the work of Reuben Wu.

We just published our latest reference directory: Who’s Who in Web3: The Art Curators.

Our latest reference directory profiles 100 curators actively working at the intersection of Web3 and contemporary art — from institutional figures at Centre Pompidou, the Whitney, and the V&A to independent voices building exhibitions on platforms, in galleries, and championing artists on-chain.

What unites them is a single criterion: a specific, credited exhibition of blockchain-based art in the past four years.

This directory is exclusive to 100 collectors members. If there’s a curator you think belongs on this list, comment below — we research every suggestion and expand accordingly.

Join 100 collectors to access all directories: https://www.100collectors.art/landing/digital-art-directories
