The threads and blank spaces between the photographs evoke the missing pages of the archive: 6/C, 6/B, 6/D, 6/E … 7/A, 7/B … . Each year begins from the table, where an object acts as a weight, and extends into space with a rhythm shaped by temporality. Personal history in the form of a cherished memory. by @byhandemirm

"Relics" is rooted in both social and personal history. Questioning the meaning of archiving and what a found archive represents, the work consists of found class photographs from İstanbul Kültür Koleji taken between 1972 and 1978. The relationship between the table, the objects, and the photographs establishes a connection between where archiving begins, material traces, and collective memory. by @byhandemirm

Formulas, graphs, and curves. Machines operating beside them with the promise of precision and perfection. Human-made systems built on the illusion of flawlessness. Yet eventually the machines break down: they begin to creak, produce rhythms, strange sounds, and unexpected landscapes. What kinds of meanings emerge through the failures of the systems we create and worship?
