Really enjoying this color palette lately… soft, dusty corals and warm blush tones glowing behind deep charcoal, muted slate blues, and earthy browns.

The light seems to peek through the trees and bring the whole landscape to life.

Let me know if you are interested in one of these mini landscapes! Comment INTERESTED and I’ll send you a link to get started! by @bylacey

I know fall is upon us, and these pieces may lean more toward spring, but as I sit here admiring them, I find myself longing for the way I imagine these flowers must feel. Peaceful. Unhurried. Carefree.

Something I’m desperately craving in the midst of this chaotic fall.

Yesterday, I found myself almost angry at the busyness of life. Not necessarily the things I choose to fill my days with, but the things I feel I have no control over.

The texts. The emails. The notifications. The scheduling. The logistics. The emotional weight of our children’s unmet expectations. The constant demands of modern life.

I consider myself a pretty efficient person, but lately, these modern-day “necessities” have been frustrating me internally. It’s as though the more efficient we become, the more we’re expected to manage. And somewhere in the middle of it all, the things that actually give us life can get buried beneath the things that demand our attention. And honestly, it grieves me to think that our children may never know life any differently. A world without the constant pings, notifications, and demands for their attention. A world where being present didn’t require so much intentional effort.

When I look at these two pieces, I almost feel myself exhale. The soft, earthy greens, the imperfect movement of the flowers, the layers of texture, and the way everything seems to grow freely without trying so hard. There’s something about them that feels effortless. Life-giving instead of life-draining.

So, even if you only experience these pieces through this little square on your phone, I hope they give you a moment of that same feeling. I love to buy art that reminds me of a feeling. A place. A person… it’s more than just about filling your wall.

And if they find their way into your home, I hope they become a daily reminder to breathe. To slow down.

There is always a new season ahead. So let’s not allow the weight of the one we’re in to keep us from appreciating the small, sweet moments tucked between the chaos.

Available individually or as a pair.

45 miles for 45 years! 🚴‍♂️🎉🇭🇷➡️🇲🇪

What a way to celebrate Jeremy’s 45th birthday!

We started the day in Croatia with 20 miles on the bikes, then stopped for the most incredible farm-to-table lunch with the Novaković family and a tour of their 400-year-old home.

After lunch, we got back on the bikes for another 20 miles, crossed a slightly intimidating border 😅, and officially made our way from Croatia into Montenegro.

But 40 miles wasn’t quite enough for the birthday boy…

So Jeremy and I tacked on a few extra miles to make it 45 miles for 45 years.

The heat has definitely been upon us this trip, but surprisingly, this day felt easier than some of the climbs we tackled a few days earlier on the Pelješac Peninsula 😅!

We planned this Backroads trip almost two years ago, and it truly could not have worked out more perfectly for Jeremy’s 45th.

Two countries. 45 miles. One unforgettable birthday.

And if I’m supposed to be his ride or die… I guess I’m officially the ride. 😂❤️🚴‍♀️

What a day. Happy 45th, Jeremy! by @bylacey

Motherhood has always been a labor of love.

You do what needs to be done because you love them.
You wake up, work, provide, sacrifice, show up—
and so much of it you don’t even think twice about.

But divorce changed what that labor looked like for me.

I found myself carrying responsibilities in ways I hadn’t expected— and, if I’m being truthful, there were times when disappointment and resentment crept in.

It became easy to notice what felt unfair. To keep score. To measure what I was doing against what someone else was—or wasn’t—doing.

I was still doing it all out of love for my children, but somewhere along the way, the labor had started taking up more space in my heart than the love.

And that is a heavy way to live.

But God is changing something in me.

The responsibilities haven’t necessarily changed, but my perspective has.

I realized that the freedom I was looking for wasn’t going to come from someone else changing.

It could come from a change in me.

I’m learning that choosing to love the labor is incredibly freeing.
When I stop measuring what I’m doing against what someone else is or isn’t doing, I stop giving their choices power over my heart.

It’s easy to keep score. But keeping score doesn’t change the score—
it just keeps me focused on it. So I’m learning to shift my focus. From look at everything I have to do to look at everything I GET to do.

From a labor of love to a love of the labor.

The work is still work. The sacrifice is still sacrifice. But when I choose to see the labor through the lens of love,
it changes what the labor does to me.

My experience happened through divorce, motherhood and providing for my children. Yours may be completely different.

Maybe it’s marriage. Caregiving. Building a business.
Showing up for someone who needs you. Or carrying a responsibility you never expected to carry.

What would change if you stopped seeing the work only as something you have to do—
and started choosing to love the labor?

I’d genuinely love to hear what that looks like in your life.

Labor of love → Love of the labor. by @bylacey

We started our trip in Austria to get over the jet lag before kicking off our active Backroads adventure!

Starting in Split, Croatia, we’re biking our way along the coast, through vineyards and olive groves, toward Dubrovnik and eventually Montenegro. 🚴‍♀️🇭🇷 Today, we did a total of 26 mile— 9 this morning and 17 in the afternoon! 😅

We’re traveling with about 12 couples from all over—pushing through some serious climbs by day and feasting well at night!

Only four of us chose what Backroads calls the “acoustic bikes” (aka the real deal 😂), while e-bikes are also an option. When the challenge was offered, we accepted!

Backroads does not disappoint—the service, knowledge, professionalism, and FUN have been incredible. Such a fun way to experience Croatia!

Tomorrow is a 40-mile stretch (20 in the morning and 20 in the afternoon) as we cross into another country—Montenegro! 🇲🇪 And since Jeremy turns 45 tomorrow, he wants to make it 45 miles for his 45th birthday. We’ll see about that… 😅🚴‍♂️🎂🎉 by @bylacey
