⭐ENGLISH TRANSLATION⭐

Khaab sajaun da vela
laang chukia Shivalika.

The time to decorate dreams
has passed Shivalika.

Hun vela ae khaabaan nu
buland karn da.

Now is the time to
elevate those dreams,

chambe ton udaan bharan da,

to take flight from the nest,

te ghabarat de maidan vich
koshish nu khade karan da.

and to make effort stand tall
in the battle field of anxiety.

Dar kada?

Why fear?

Nakami bahaduri da o hathyaar ae,
jehra haar ke vi jitna sikhaanda.

Failure is that weapon of the brave
that teaches how to win, even after losing.

Sometimes jealousy, envy, and projection are disguised as remarks of "care," trying to keep you small so you don't evolve beyond recognition.

The shifts:

1) Courage 🫁

I wrote this when I fully came face to face with my vulnerabilities. It was extremely freeing and healing.

I realized courage isn’t always about being strong; sometimes it looks like radically accepting yourself.

The breathing metaphors repeat throughout these 3 poems, because that’s what it felt like. Like I could finally breathe.

2) Worth 🪞

2025 was a rude awakening. I realized I had been exporting my self-worth to other people.

Writing this felt like an honest conversation with myself. If I could be that place of comfort for others, I could learn to be that for myself too. .

3) Wisdom 🦉

This one is simple but important to me. I wrote it to remind myself that I’ve made many mistakes, and I probably will again. But I wasn’t born knowing everything. Mistakes are the path to wisdom, not a character flaw that must be carried forever.

Here is a poem from the zine that came straight from the heart.

Last weekend I was in Toronto dropping my zines guerilla style all over the city and airports.

This zine is so personal to me because it is a direct message to those who have dragged themselves out from the depths of hell, and continue to do so.

I couldn't be more proud of myself.

Together, @byshivalika and I created this silent revolution of a poem using @rae.writespoetry’s May prompt: “everything changes.”

Everything changes when you do.
The universe listens.
Loneliness evolves from exile into solitude.
Maybe the world doesn’t need fixing, maybe it needs listening.

This piece is about that shift:
quiet revolutions,
astronomical forgiveness
and the truth that even in dissatisfaction,
we still orbit. 🌌

So I’ve realized that I’m not afraid or cringed out by being seen trying. I’m only human. Like you. We’re human. Flawed and complex. Another person’s judgment hurts, of course, but it doesn’t really pierce anymore, because they’re only human too.

I try and try, and I fail and revise. That’s who I am. It’s hard sometimes. But at times, it feels like the biggest blessing I could ask for, to be flawed in front of those who are just like me: human.

In all honesty, this poem is a reminder to myself to actually feel my pain. At times I just drown in my progress, unknowingly surpressing my agony even when I'm getting signs of depletion from my body.

This time, it took me a week but I finally caught the signs of my body powering down. Now, I'm aggressively demanding my mind to allow me some grace for healing.

This goes out to anyone that suffers from mental and physical disabilities, where self-validation struggles to be heard. Keep going, and keep listening to yourself.
