We Won our first Award 🎉🙌🏽!! Ekk! Moonlighting Documentary won the Intersect Award which honours a film that brings different cultures, identities, histories or perspectives into meaningful conversation 🥹🙏🏽! A huge THANK YOU to Screen Share 2026: Caribbean Stories, Collective power for celebrating our film and creating a space for these stories to be heard, shared, and connected. We are so grateful.

Not to mention, Moonlighting has also had THREE official festival selections 🙈.

Our film festival journey is just beginning and we can't wait to see where it takes us next :)

When we heard the news of the passing of the Mighty Sparrow, we waited, because there have been many scares over the years, and usually within an hour or two the man would speak up to denounce the rumour. This time, it’s real. A titan of calypso has passed on and we must recognise him. Rightfully, scores are declaring sorrow, even The New York Times has eulogised him at length, because in the story of the Caribbean, Sparrow is not just a part, he’s one of the storytellers.

Starting with ‘Jean and Dinah’ in 1956, he was an international sensation, and that allowed him to show us to the world through his music, but he also showed us to ourselves. It was his humour and talent, but also his honesty, that resonated afar, and at home.

We offer condolences to his family, close friends, and all the fans.
Rest in power to an icon.

Seeing the variety of approaches to red carpet fashion at the recent Caribbean Music Awards has us thinking about the challenges posed to regional garment designers today. We have the talent, but over and over we laud it after seeing specific, singular examples on a red carpet or at an exclusive show. CARIBBEAN FASHION HAS TO SCALE PAST BESPOKE…

That few have scaled isn’t a failure of individual designers necessarily. The region needs to establish fashion manufacturing & direct-to-consumer supply chains. How? Well, our strongest boutique producers likely require equity to transition to nearshore batch manufacturing and international e-commerce. Equity capital could cover bulk raw material procurement, setting up regional production facilities (or securing dedicated factory lines in hubs like the Dominican Republic or Jamaica), integrating fulfillment logistics, and funding cross-border performance marketing to sell directly to global buyers.

The 20th anniversary edition of the @ttfilmfestival kicked off last night and we felt every word of Mariel’s speech. She also identified that over the two decades of operation, TTFF has worked with more than 1800 filmmakers who entrusted the festival with over 2000 films. We want to share those numbers because there is a misconception that our region does not produce enough to satisfy distribution needs, but… sounds like we are getting there. Festivals are an essential cog in the machine of distribution, in fact, forget cog, they are an essential gear.

Looking at our favourite photos from last night, it’s a mix of important moments (like speeches, and the Q&A with @danm_movie Director @tnewallofilmmaker and actors @shevmetivier @868will @anandlawkaran) but also fun on the red carpet and at the after-party. Yes, festivals are FUN.

Canada, here we come! 🇨🇦✨

Feeling incredibly excited (and a little surreal!) to be heading to Toronto this week for @caribbeantales Film Festival. 🎬❤️

What started as an idea, a story we felt needed to be told, and countless hours of work has now brought us to another film festival — this time in Toronto! 🇨🇦

I’ll be joined by two of my castmates (@thesandylion & Sarah Hamel-Smith ) for a Q&A following the screening, and I am looking forward to sharing this experience with them, and with everyone who comes out to watch.

Our documentary screens Thursday, September 10th at 9:00 PM. 🎥✨
