Presented by @vertdesignstudio Interpretations is an ongoing exhibition series exploring the adaptability and currency of industrial design.

For its sixth edition, Interpretations invited local designers to experiment with carbon fibre — exploring its material qualities and potential.

“Carbon fibre is a material that has been in use and development for more than a century. But its use has been relegated to performance sports and transportation. The material is underused because designed are ‘gatekept’ from engaging with it.” — @andrewcsimpson

@myceliahouse prototype in the wild

This was back in February when @luke_reid98 and I celebrated 10 years together with a stay at an @unyoked.co cabin.

BTS: I accidentally glazed an entire batch of designs in white instead of clear because I didn’t read the label properly. I only realised much later… after sending @vickigrima on a goose chase trying to work out what had happened 🙃 Ceramics is humbling in the best way.

@myceliahouse is ceramic 3d printed and slip cast, designed for growing mushrooms at home 👾

One of the final Mycelia House prototypes, just before some refinements to help it sit closer on the edge of the vessel.

I’m so excited to start sharing more of this journey with you. My hands and heart have been so immersed in the making process that marketing has taken a back seat.

But really, marketing is just sharing the story and spreading the word. So here’s to sharing more of the process, the prototypes, and everything in between more regularly.

Keeping it fun @vertdesignstudio with @vincent.obj and @mcardle_designs for the design of @eirwaves heatable slides. ❤️

Designed as a unibody slide with a dual-cavity construction, they pair with an integrated heat pack to deliver warmth after surfing and other water adventures.
