Last week I officially ended my second MFA @ccacomics summer intensive! There was so much knowledge gained during this time, thanks to our incredible professors!! As busy as it was, there were still a lot of nice moments in between. I had my first tabling experience @sourcherrycomics , which was nervewracking but exciting! Then I had my first gallery exhibition showcase with my incredibly talented cohort (everyone did amazing!!) And the support from family and friends that night was everything 🫶🏽 . Just one year closer to graduation now 😱

Hey hey!! I’m back from my hiatus with some artwork I haven’t shared yet. For this piece, I wanted to specifically represent some of the different generations of Ethiopian women 🇪🇹💚💛❤️

Hope everyone’s been enjoying the summer so far!! ☀️

Our next 👾Issue 6🪐 contributor is......
Christian Abraham! @ca.toons 💫
She is an Ethiopian artist and visual storyteller based in the San Francisco, Bay Area. Currently, she is studying at California College of the Arts as part of their MFA in Comics program. She hopes to use the knowledge and skills that she will learn at CCA to create authentic and relatable stories in the future.

Christian's comic, "What If," is a tender depiction of a utopian alien life. Check out the whole comic on our website in early May!

Hey hey!! Here’s a new illustration to commemorate the last day of Black History Month 🤎 (Anyone else feel like February only lasted 0.2 seconds? *sigh*)

First post of 2026! We’re starting off the new year with my resident love birds Zarah and Kaleb 🤎 They had a cozy night in watching the ball drop on TV. Had to spend a little more time finishing this piece after NYE but it was needed lol

It’s that time of year again: #artvartist 🎨 A lot has changed this year. The main thing being that I’m now making comics alongside illustrations!! Couldn’t be more grateful for all the lessons, experiences, and support so far. It’s been rewarding so far and I can’t wait to see what’s next!!

Ever wondered about the effects of overthinking, *cough* especially if you’re an artist/creative, *cough* ? 🧠

Well maybe this journalism comic I made earlier this semester has some answers for ya! Part 1 of 2 since I couldn’t fit all of it in one post 🙃

This project, assigned by @nicolejgeorges in their @ccacomics studio class, was definitely challenging but I feel like I learned a lot along the way! And of course, a big thank you to the folks I interviewed! Hope ya’ll enjoy it too!
