The Gulf and Other Places explores architecture and the everyday spaces that shape life in the UAE and beyond. The photographs move between what remains and what is fading, balancing the pull of memory with the pace of development. Some images feel like traces lifted from another time, while others capture moments on the verge of disappearing. The exhibition lingers in this in-between zone, inviting viewers to pay attention to the subtle details that reveal how places evolve and how people inhabit them.

The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises, Zayed University, together with the National Pavilion UAE - La Biennale di Venezia, will host a one-day symposium to reflect on architecture as a discipline and a practice in the current time and the specific local context of the UAE.
Through three thematic sessions, the symposium explores how technology, ecology, and data are reshaping architectural thought and practice today.
Open to students and the public. Registration is required.
