Sneak peak of The Service now crated and heading to @thelmahulbertgallery in #honiton with @thelondongroup ready for #InPlainSight which is open for your viewing pleasure from the 28th Aug through to 30th Oct. This work was made during lockdown when only 30 folk were allowed at a service. I was thinking Hold Tight, hang on. There are 30 mugs, all visibly held really tightly, some are even squeezed through, but they are all suspended together on one mass of salvaged copper wire. Connected. Alongside my Silica Platters which are slip decorated with motifs inspired by the microscopic patterns on the surface of #microchips, stands the 150cm tall Out of the Dark which was originally shown at the @waterloofestiv with @thelondongroup in our first show post pandemic. The event also celebrated the 70th anniversary of the festival of Britain, and this work was made in response to the colourful and optimistic architecture of the festival gardens of the 1950s. I can’t imagine how impressive that setting looked to a nation emerging from the horrific decades of war, but making this work it was hard to see beyond the global upheaval of the COVID19 pandemic. The black and white designs gave way to gray and touches of yellow as my mind cleared. This setting, overlooking the sea which always gives me solace, and the distant presence of Belle Toute lighthouse gives it extra strength I think, thank you @thepilgrimpotter for the opportunity and #greatpotterythrowdown for the courage to put this work out there🙏🙏 this massive ceramic sculpture was fitted with the expert help of Roberto in his kiln @pottery.gagliano 💪💪 taken in Cuckmere Haven SOS by @cadi_f

1. Looking back on your journey as ceramic artists, which moment has had the greatest impact on you?

“The moment I realised I could confidently throw on the wheel was the moment that connected my relationship with clay to the ideas and scope of my ambitions- I remember the feeling when I realised I had the skills to make what was in my head into reality. It was exhilarating.”

1. Wenn du auf deinen Weg als Keramikkünstlerin zurückblickst: Welcher Moment hat dich am meisten geprägt?

„Der Moment, in dem mir klar wurde, dass ich sicher an der Drehscheibe drehen konnte, hat alles verändert. Er hat meine Verbindung zum Ton mit meinen Ideen und dem Umfang meiner kreativen Visionen verknüpft. Ich erinnere mich noch genau an das Gefühl, als ich wusste: Ich habe die Fähigkeiten, das, was in meinem Kopf ist, Wirklichkeit werden zu lassen. Das war überwältigend.“

The @queenacorona masterpiece bobble hat travel special part 2. It is now safe and sound at home, still smiling after its adventure with a faint whiff of sulphur about it. What a lucky bobble hat. Yes indeed when I want to swap out the plain drink at the end of the day, but am staying away from alcohol #mother_root is my go-to. Handily I’m able to order online from them @motherroot -there’s a discount code for you to enjoy the gingery goodness too. I’ve been known to take a shot at the start of the day too to get my brain going (much appreciated..) #alcoholfree #doseofgoodfeelings #bekindtoyourself #potterylife by @cadi_f
