BLACK KIDS NEED TO SEE BLACK SUCCESS!

Because you can’t become what you’ve never seen.

Our children need to see Black men and women building businesses, owning homes, creating jobs, becoming doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, educators, developers, artists, leaders and community builders.

They need to see us winning without losing ourselves.

They need to understand that success isn’t reserved for somebody else’s neighborhood, somebody else’s boardroom, or somebody else’s family.

Representation changes imagination.
Exposure changes expectation.
Ownership changes generations.

And sometimes the most powerful thing we can give a child isn’t money…

It’s an example.

So let’s stop asking, “What’s wrong with our kids?”

And start asking:

“What are we showing them?”

Be the example.
Build something they can see.
Create something they can inherit.
Become the person you needed to see when you were young.

Our children are watching.
Let’s give them something worth watching.

DON’T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF.

I don’t care how far behind you feel. I don’t care how many times you’ve failed, how many doors have closed, or how many people stopped believing in you.

KEEP GOING.

Sometimes God will allow you to walk through a season where nobody understands you, nobody sees the vision, and nobody applauds the work you’re doing.

That doesn’t mean you’re losing.
It means you’re being built.

Your struggle is not your identity.
Your past is not your final chapter.
Your mistakes don’t disqualify you.
And your current situation does NOT determine your future.

Get back up.
Refocus.
Pray.
Work.
Believe.
And keep becoming the person you know you were created to be.

BROTHERS BUILDING. THAT’S IT. THAT’S THE POST. 🤝🏾🔥

Tonight was POWERFUL.

Men from Essex, Union, and surrounding counties came together on a Friday night for one reason: to build.

Mental health.
Relationships.
Fatherhood.
Leadership.
Growth.
Healing.
Accountability.

REAL conversations. REAL perspectives. REAL brotherhood.

As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said:

“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”

We NEED spaces like this.

Spaces where men can talk.
Listen.
Learn.
Challenge each other.
Heal.
And grow.

BIG S/O to every Brother who showed up, shared, supported, and believed in the vision. 🙏🏾

This is bigger than a meeting.

We’re building MEN.
We’re strengthening FAMILIES.
We’re building COMMUNITY.

All I ever had was a VISION FROM GOD, faith in myself, a mother’s love, and the AUDACITY to believe in myself. 🙏🏾

I’m not perfect, but I’m learning every day to become a better version of myself. I’m intentional about my growth, intentional about being a good person, and intentional about becoming the best version of ME.

A better father.
A better brother.
A better uncle.
A better man.

I’m beyond grateful for this journey the ups AND the downs because every lesson has helped shape who I’m becoming.

Anyone who truly knows me knows I’m not a gatekeeper. I genuinely love seeing other people WIN. There’s room for all of us to grow, build, and succeed. 🤝🏾

From my barbershop to Café By Us, I appreciate EVERYONE who genuinely supports me. Many of you have watched me grow and evolve over the years, and honestly, being able to see that growth is a blessing from God. 🙏🏾

I took the summer off, but now we’re back! Friday, October 2nd at 6 PM, Café By Us is opening the doors for another monthly Men’s Meeting — and THIS ONE IS OPEN TO EVERYONE!

This isn’t a political event. It’s not a campaign event. It’s not scripted. It’s an open forum for like-minded people who believe in showing up, having real conversations, building relationships, and strengthening our community.

I want to see local leaders, law enforcement, elected officials, community leaders, business owners, entrepreneurs, developers, fathers, mentors, professionals, and everyday residents all in the same room.

🤝 Let’s network.
💬 Let’s have real conversations.
💡 Let’s exchange ideas.
📈 Let’s build businesses and relationships.
