officially out of the reading slump cos of this book!! (well, i guess? 👀)

i understand that this book is not for everyone cos the plot is just wrong & chaotic. like, what do you mean you’re falling in love with your bestfriend’s girlfriend? 😬 but i gotta admit, i was entertained, got all the feels, & abby jimenez has this magic of making something so messy somehow make perfect sense.

this book broke me & made me whole at the same time. most of the time while reading chris & larissa’s scenes, i couldn’t stop thinking about the quote i read somewhere: “to be loved is to be known.” the yearning, the slow burnnn, & the acts of service. chris is basically a walking green flag. 😩 he’s just toooo good… & way too fictional hahaha.

anw, i really enjoyed this book despite some extremely heavy topics (alcoholism, financial struggles, family trauma, ptsd, panic attacks, & toxic relationships).

overall, it was such a nice read. it kept me up until 5AM on a weekend hahahh. & my favorite character in this story is woofarine. i absolutely loved EVERY woofarine scene. he’s hilarious & a total badass. 😆

this book feels like a warm, quiet hug. like it’s telling you, “you’re doing your best, & that’s enough.” it’s so comforting that i honestly didn’t want it to end. 🥹 it’s a soft reminder that your job, past, or regrets don’t define you. what matters are the small, calm moments that make life feel gentle again.

reading it even ignites my dream of having my own little bookshop & coffeeshop someday. a quiet corner where stories, warmth, & peace live.

a cozy read for anyone who needs a little peace & a fresh breath of hope. 🍃

i honestly don’t know how to feel about this book. It’s good, but at the same time, it’s also quite depressing and disappointing. 🙂‍↔️

however, my biggest takeaway is that you never truly know someone until you walk in their shoes. it’s heartbreaking for a woman to experience infertility, especially for those who long for a baby so deeply—even after years of trying. 🥹 it’s also a reminder for everyone to be kind and sensitive to those going through this journey.
i truly hope and pray they’ll have their little miracle soon. 🤍

finally decided to dive into the hype, and wow—this book did not disappoint! it’s been a while since I’ve read a fantasy novel that had me so hooked I was waking up at 4AM just to keep reading. 😂 i think listening to the Graphic Audio while reading made the experience even more mind-blowing and exhilarating. 👌 i can hear Xaden Riorson’s voice even in my sleep 😆

i absolutely loved imagining flying with the dragons esp Tairn and Andarna. Tairn’s grumpy yet hilarious personality was a favorite, and Andarna? she’s an adorable golden ray of sunshine! 💛✨

this book is an emotional rollercoaster, packed with unpredictable plot twists. the last few chapters had me sobbing 🥹 iykyk 😭

it also gave me major nostalgia for the fantasy and dystopian series I loved as a teenager. while I don’t think this book is for everyone, I personally cannot wait to read the next one! ( i freakin’ need more Andarna scenes! haha )
